Steven Soderbergh used the Sony A9III to shoot his latest movie “PRESENCE”

Share

As reported by Patrick/Filmmakermag:

The film is shot like a POV entirely on a 14mm SONY photo lens with a gimbal. The a9iii is the first full frame global shutter which minimizes artifacts (jello effect) when panning. It’s a cool combo for a unique effect.

Global Shutter on video camera is a massive improvement. Hope to see it on the A7sIV and FX3II too!

Selling hot: Excope DT1 is a 200x magnification camera….but with misleading image samples?

Share

The 200x Excope DT1 has made a ton of sales on Kickstarter. But before you place your preorder read the latest article on PetaPixel. They made a serious investigation into the marketing material they got from the company and discovered that some images were taken on “normal” cameras like the Canon 70D. P.S.: Great work Jeremy Gray!

UPDATE: The Excope team contacted me and told me this:

All the necessary changes have also been made to our Kickstarter campaign page to avoid any confusion among our backers in the future.

Below some youtube videos that re likely to NOT be misleading and do show how the camera works:

New Sony 16-25mm G lens reviews and preorders finally available at Amazon US

Share

Preorders at Amazon, BHphoto, Adorama, FotoErhardt, FotoKoch, Calumet, WexUK, Amazon.

Better late than never: With 24hours delay Amazon US started to take reorders on the new Sony 16-25mm G (Click here).

And here are new reviews:

DigitalCameraWorld writes:

It’s certainly not a cheap lens but I feel it’s well worth the money and a powerful tool for landscapes, cityscapes, architectural interiors and even astrophotography. It’s nothing if not versatile, and the handling characteristics are excellent.

PCMag writes:

If you can get past its meager zoom range, the well-built Sony FE 16-25mm F2.8 G lens rewards you with excellent low-light results at wide angles.

Mobile01 writes:

It is obvious that Sony has made a leap in optical capabilities, if you have requirements for resolution, you no longer need a GM lens. The performance of the new generation “G Lens” is also quite reliable, enough to feed the 60MP ultra-high pixels.

Sony’s new range of Bravia TVs is really worth a look. First of all, the new naming system reminds me of the Alpha line :)
Much more important is the very innovative new technology. Take a look at this video to see why this is an exciting release from Sony:
