5 months ago |Still no A77 at Sony Canada, at last call I was told maybe 3rd or 4th week of January.
Like I said before this site deserves a A+ for reporting and breaking news.
Sony deserves a D for supplying product, and people before you respond to me with the shouts of them having suffered floods, etc, and me being cold hearted, they had no plan B in case of work stoppage and decided the consumer would just have to wait.
And for those of you who want to say good riddance to me that’s fine. I can’t afford to be a fanboy, I have a business to run. (sonyA77) talk about FanBoys
For the rest of you that enjoy taking photo’s it can be a great living, always fun.
Have a wonderful new year.

5 months ago |You expect Sony to have TWO identical production facilities? Paying twice the labour costs as well? Whatever…
Mike/Canada
5 months ago |No I’m not talking about TWO identical plants!
I’m talking about a subsidiary plant or plants being retooled and set to uptake production demand (like what’s done in manufacturing every day)
And please don’t get into labor costs, its something you clearly know nothing about.

5 months ago |That’s what they are doing, re-tooling another production facility and it takes a long time.
You appear to expect Sony to have empty production facilities where they can instantly move in, set-up production AND have a local skilled workforce on stand-by.
It is you who clearly knows nothing. Manufacturing companies don’t switch production from one location to the next in a matter of days, it takes months of planning and execution.
You really are clueless.
Mike/Canada
5 months ago |Yes I do, because it’s done everyday in “North America” !
Its something that companies do all the time. like I said before unlike yourself I’m not interested in defending Sony regardless of how they treat the consumer.
They have not been clear since day one about shipment dates, or when people could expect them.
I have stuck with Minolta/Sony for over 5+ years because after Sony took over I expected the larger name would bring new innavation to the market place in the pro model.
All the while personally forgoing a per-diem if I went with Nikon or Canon. So don’t talk to me about the business side of it, or what I expect
Tell me fanboy, when the next body comes out in a couple of years will you change your name
to SonyA99.

5 months ago |Happy Days for 2012!
Well Mike, I hear your frustration and frankly I was once an A77 hopeful but I threw in the towel and bought the A900. It’s as old as dirt in the technological food chain but at least I could buy it. Ironically, I feel it was a twist of fait because it’s soOoo easy to operate, sans the ‘wash, rinse, spin, fluff’ feature set. I’ll probably take a bath on its depreciation value in the coming months but that’s life.
BTW: I agree with you in that manufactures in Japan really should consider second sourcing in places like’ Arizona.

5 months ago |Hi, I just discovered the A77 at the german online-shop notebooksbilliger.de where it is actually offered as body only or with the 16-50 mm lens at moderate prices (€ 1324,99/1.938,99), which is only slightly above the list price. I think I’ll buy it there if Amazon, where I ordered it two month ago, isn’t able to deliver till the end of next week.
