After yesterdays price drop on the A99 for the first time we also got a price drop on the Sony RX1. And it’s a quite big one! You save $170 at Cameraland (Click here) and at BigValue (Click here).

I personally am sick and tired with this european pricing strategy of Sony. Especially here in Germany.
This is really an issue for me to think about turning from Sony.
2.600 $ is atm roughly 2k€, but the RX1 is listed at my premium reseller at 3.099 €.
Same with A99. I don’t mind paying some bucks more due to being an early adopter, but here we have almost the same issue. I paid 2,7k€ compared to 2,9k$ (start price in US) which is ~2k€.

6 months ago |No, it is not TAX issue it is Sony only. Other cameras aren’t as expensive compared to Sony. For example D800 is 700$ cheaper in Europe than A99. Funny isn’t it?

6 months ago |I think they are just reselling.. Recently I bought Rx1 using EPP 10% discount+ gift card discount ($100 dc per $500 gf) + free shipping.. U do the math.. The thing was a lot cheaper than u would think.. Plus some state don’t even charge tax so even cheaper but not for me..
Bottom line.. I love the camera!!!

6 months ago |Yeah, right: we ain’t living in the early 90s when you had to check and recheck if the VCR you were buying in US was NTSC/PAL/SECAM capable. It’s a damn camera: you can choose PAL or NTSC video out. And actually the idea of mil0 is not bad at all: a vacation combined to the “shopping”. Sure you save some really good money but it might get expensive on airplane and hotel….
