2 years ago |At 00:31 some additional lenses for the E-mount are seen, including one which looks like a tele zoom with on-lens tripod ring.

2 years ago |Nice, but as it is using regular E-Mount Objectives, there is probably no possibillty for motorized Zoom.
So, actually choosing the Handycam or the NEX-5 you will have no big difference then in Size, except for the Microphone and a few more extra Video Settings.

2 years ago |Not new it is 70-400mm for A-mount.
Overall awesome! I expect this price with 18-200mm lens.

2 years ago |I hope there will be body only kit. I do not need 18-200mm for 800$.

2 years ago |The NEX system is getting better. Now we need just a NEX with more controls and a few lenses.

2 years ago |Wow thats awesome! I wouldve expected something like this to come later.
I guess Sony learned their lesson when they got a photographer to shoot their promo shots with a Canon camera. Now they’re using a Sony a850 for the promo shots =)

Nope. The official still pictures of Sony NEX-VG10 were taken with a PhaseOne H25 and post-processed with Adobe Photoshop CS3 (must have been a cheap engagement

2 years ago |Awesome but are you sure about the 24P frame rate
all the other sites say it’s only 60i (for North American) & 50i (for European model)
no mentioning of 24P anywhere but here
Can you please clarify… Thank you.
rushmore
2 years ago |If it is really 60i only why can’t just SONY get it right in the first place.
Haven’t they seen what happened to 5Dmkii ?
24P is a must and it would be a deal breaker for many…..
Why can’t they just get it right ????

2 years ago |Hi Rusmore! I have taken the report from PCworld and they said 24p. Now I see that this isn’t true (and they also removed it).
Thanks!
P.S.: I am surprised the camera can’t do 24p or 30p. That’s probably a huge minus!

2 years ago |how about aliasing? I already fitted my 7D with handles and all but I hate the resolution and aliasing on the video mode.
Liza
2 years ago |Looks like it is like the gh1 and shoots 30p on the sensor but stores it as s 60i stream for playback on tvs.
This is what the press release said. So, it will just mean pulldown removal.
A hassle, but then if they understood the needs of videographers they’d be doing mp4 instead of avchd.

2 years ago |I guess it’s not just the size of the chip, but quality of pixels (related to larger individual size) that make this camera stand out from other camcorders, and the autofocus that makes it more useful than most video dslrs (plus, better sound). A huge jump in technology! I wonder what Photokina will bring????

2 years ago |Looks video shot in Bali? It also feature A mount lens in he video promo. In one video it use Macro 50 f2.8. Is that Manual Focus?
Rob
2 years ago |Looks like alpha lenses are manual focus – but I recall seeing that there is an large effort being made to make alpha lenses AF in the NEX system – and wonder if this will cross over to the video system?
I wonder what will happen with the alpha 7xx?????
Marc
2 years ago |No progressive recording ???? I hope this is a mistake on the specs …
No motorized zoom ???? When filming with the NEX5 it seems very difficult to hold the camera steady with one hand, and if you want to zoom you need your other hand + manual zooming isn’t as fluent as motorized zooming. I hope someone will make an add on to put a motor on the zoom …
I’ll just wait to see if the rolling shutter and moiré is better than the NEX5 I have
I guess the auto focus will be the same as with the NEX5 ? which isn’t good enough for filming
Will they make a pro version as well with XLR input and HD SDI out ?
hanugro
2 years ago |Yeah I think in the end SSM may be able to AF, at least in still.
Sam
2 years ago |Interestingly the video specs for the upcoming nex-7 are more attractive than for this camcorder. Has any one heard of any rumors, or pre-rumors, as to when we can hear more? Thanks, Sam
