New Shoten E-mount adapters released

Focus Studio Co., Ltd. will start selling the following conversion mount adapters from SHOTEN on Thursday, October 17th. A mount adapter with an appearance and familiarity with an old lens that excels in functionality and design.

Sony RX10 IV will get Animal Eye-AF via future firmware update!

Sony Japan announced that it will add Animal Eye-AF on the Sony RX10 IV via a new firmware update that will be released within 2019.  Translated press text:

Software update contents:
1. Real-time pupil AF support for animals (still images only)
2. Real-time pupil AF operability improvement Support for half-pressing the shutter button
3. Improved operational stability

Scheduled release date for software updates:
Scheduled for 2019

Sony keeps patenting different organic sensor concepts

MirrorlessReports spotted the next Sony organic sensor patent. The past years I saw  many  different  variations including this exciting “Foveon” alike organic sensor where Sony wrote:

“the inventor succeeds in improving image quality and reliability by leaps and bounds to a surprising thing, and came to complete this technology.”

My guess is that it will take 4-5 years before we might  see this on an Alpha camera…
