Small updated about the new big Sony announcement rumor I posted yesterday: I am now 90% sure Sony will very soon announce (at last) two new Full Frame cameras. Definitely one E-mount, not sure yet if the second cam is A-mount or E-mount….fingers crossed and stay tuned on SAR!
Reminder: There is on Sony announcement before the NAB show in early April and one in May. Expect the two new cameras to be announced at one or both these events.

A small tidbit: One of my trusted sources told me these cameras will come with a “soft announcement”. It means almost no reviewer or press will get the camera before the announcement and the little info shared will come directly via Sony Japan. Just like it happened with the Sony A7II.

P.S.: A couple of notes:
1) I removed a lot of advertising and will remove some further. I also cleaned the code a bit. Website should load faster. A more serious cleaning is due to happen in 1-2 months. I promise site will be less cluttered by then!
2) I am working to remove all trolls which as usual comment as anonymous guests. Hope comment system will be more enjoyable to follow.

Patent of the entry level Sony A5 FF camera.

I know the last 6-7 months have been a bit slow on the rumor front but the main reason was that Sony had “only” one camera announced (The A7II). Sony slowed down the mad product release cycle they had the previous years. But now the time has come again to bring some real big and highly trusted rumor!

In May Sony will announce new E-mount cameras. I am now working with all sources to grab info about those. If all works fine I can at last share some SR4 or even SR5 rumors soon. So far I can tell you I got E-mount camera rumors only but I have high hopes Sony will bring a new FF A-mount camera this year too. I am just not sure that cam is coming in May.

One more thing: There is also a Sony product announcement on April 12. But I believe there is “only” camcorder (maybe E-mount camcorders) coming.

(SR3) Sigma rumors got info about a possible Sigma 24mm f/2.8 DN Art APS-C E-mount Lens that could be released in September. This would become the fourth APS-C E-mount lens in their lineup after the [shoplink 34452 ebay]19mm (here)[/shoplink], [shoplink 34453 ebay]30mm (here)[/shoplink] and [shoplink 34454 ebay]60mm (here)[/shoplink] E-mount lenses.

One more Sigma rumor:

(SR1) Sigma Rumors and I also got a weird info from another source about a 23mm FE Sigma lens (unlike the 24mm ART APSC E-mount lens rumored above). We both think this rumors is very likely fake. Anyway, here it is:

“I do have confirmation that FE support from Sigma is actually further along than the DPreview interview with the Sigma CEO would suggest. Sigma developed and will be releasing a FE 23mm f2.8 lens to market either September or October 2015.  This focal length was strategically chosen to complement the new FE 28/2 Sony has released.  It will have 10 elements in 8 groups, and 9 rounded diaphram blades.”

But I am 99% sure this one is fake.

The indonesian agency Postel registered two yet unannounced new Sony digital still cameras. This means we can expect these two new cameras to be announced within the next 1-2 months already. That registration has to be done by Sony in advance before to sell Wifi capable devices to the public.

UDPATED: Those two new codes are for fixed lens cameras. But trusted sources confirmed “Big” stuff is coming soon. So far I can tell you that I got RX, QX and E-mount camera rumors only (no A-mount). More info on the new cameras hopefully coming soon on SAR ;)

Sony will have a new press conference with product announcement on April 12 at 2pm Las Vegas times. Sony will also announce new “4K” stuff at NAB. I yet have no SR5 rumor about what exactly is coming but this is the “wild rumors”I heard so far:

New budget 4K camcorder to come (very likely to be correct)
A7000 has internal 4K recording (could come at NAB)
A7sII is not coming yet at NAb show
High Res FE camera (don’t think it’s coming at NAB)
