Engadget likes the NEX-C3 and “we undoubtedly plan to purchase it ourselves”

Engadget makes no mistery and does confess they absolutely fell in love with the Sony NEX-C3! You can read their full review here: http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/20/sony-alpha-nex-c3-review/. That is the part I do like most: “We have an opportunity to test an enormous variety of gadgets each year, including dozens of point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras. Seldom, however, do we come across a device that we undoubtedly plan to purchase ourselves. The Sony NEX-C3 is one of few exceptions — in fact, we’re even considering outfitting every member of the Engadget team with one of these compact, versatile ILCs once they hit stores next month.”

2 years ago |It is basically not about NEX3. Andrea, I have a question regarding CZ lenses. Is Sony planing to upgrade 85mm and 135mm CZ lenses and add them SSM focusing? It is also regarding new E to A-mount adapter which obvious will be only SSM lens compatible.

2 years ago |now that you mention it…It wasn’t supposed to be new A-mount lenses announcements on August along the new Alpha cameras?

2 years ago |“The tradeoff, however, is that these cams use a unique sensor(talking about µFT), which is significantly smaller than the APS-C sensor used in the NEX-C3. The result is a slower focusing system, mediocre low light performance, and a noticeable difference in overall image quality.”Sensor size has nothing to do with autofocus and all new µFT(GH2, G3, EP3…) cameras have faster autofocus than nex.

2 years ago |I would totally get one myself if there were 24mm and 30mm pancakes and also 50mm and 85mm primes.
I need fisheye/16/24/30/50/85 for a complete aps-c kit. I may have to wait 7 years for that though!

2 years ago |Good image quality but I need AE bracketing and a wired remote that works from the back of the camera.
A real fisheye would be a plus but there are fisheye lenses that can be adapted…..

2 years ago |Then you’re expecting features you won’t find in a camera like this.
You’re not going to get a full SLR in such a small format and you can’t have everything.
You’ve got a compact camera with great image quality and flexibility that you can put in a pocket. I don’t see the NEX as an SLR replacement. I see it as an improved P&S that can do some bokeh and low light shooting with the bigger sensor.

2 years ago |NEX C3 has a two lens + SD card+ case bundle sold in Asia and UK, but not USA? Why not?! Perhaps Sony is trying to unload the older Nex 3 and 5 in the USA market.

2 years ago |I wonder why Engadget did not buy a NEX 5 for each team member after last year’s announcement? Or, in other words: how much did Sony pay for that review?
REVENGE
2 years ago |It did seem to score unusually high marks, but then again Engadget isn’t really an authoritative camera review site. Many of their reviews in other categories also tend to be inconsistent.

2 years ago |It is obvious that sony payed a lot for this review.
I think it’s the worst review I’ve ever read about a digital camera…
