It’s a shortcoming that Sony did not carry Shoot Mode into a custom option for button C (on thumb wheel). So the only workaround is to have the menu soft button access Shoot Mode as your last selection, but this still requires another keystroke to select once in the menu, so not ideal. (Please Sony – add in Shoot Mode to the custom list – an easy change.)
It’s nice to set ISO on the lower soft button B as a direct access, but you lose this setting as it reverts to MF Assist if you couple a manual lens and Flexible Spot focus overrides button B to allow focus spot selection.
So a couple of limitations but overall a big improvement in the handling.

Ok good, now start working on the A55 firmware update, to give universal 24p-30p vid access, as well as more video tweakage settings (white balance, aperture change in AF, etc).

wow that focus hunting is really annoying… front, back, then creep into focus every time the target changes!

Wish the A55 FW will solve the M mode studio use problem.

Don’t say it’s not design for studio, if sony really think EVF will replace OVF in APS-C camera someday.

If you use RF trigger for flash photography.

The EVF will so dim for general usage. (in most 1/160s cases, it will be totally dark)

This is horrible. I mean, it would be easier to focus by hand.

if even an expensive zeiss starts to hunt, then i believe there´s a serious problem here..or the adapter is crap..or the firmware, or the camera..

this must be very, very frustrating to work with..

I wonder if there are differences between lenses made for phase detection AF (a-mount) and contrast AF (e-mount)

The noise of that lens really makes one appreciate the silence of the actual NEX lenses.

Actually, this lens has SSM, so I think it’s really the amount of focusing that makes it noticeable.
