First videos made with the SLRmagic 28mm f/2.8
The video on top and the video you can find here on vimeo are the first shot with the SLRMagic 28mm f/2.8 pancake. It doesn’t look bad at all or not? By the way, I have been told by the guys from SLRmagic that this lens is not the Mitakon 28mm f/2.8. It’s an improved verison of it.
You can get that lens on eBay only (Click here).

2 years ago |Quite nice… a bit soft, but without chromatic aberations, which is important when shooting with full hole. My great and sharp Zuiko 28/2.8 has some, which doesn’t make me happy. The Nokton 28/1.9 far less. And the Rokkor 28/2.0 also has some, but I don’t mind, as it has great bokeh.

Maybe it is good for SLRmagic to explain a little more about the improvement? New coating? New glass elements? Whatever it is to justify the additional US$120 of the original US$78 Mitakon version. Just don’t tell us it is the added hood. ;-p

2 years ago |Well, at least this lens is another pancake option, so they could have flooded the market after focus peaking yesterday if it was only a little cheaper. The picture quality does not really convince against old manual lenses that are available cheaper with an adapter, nevertheless it’s surprisingly good compared to what I’ve seen from their 35mm f/1.7 MC lens. But am I the only one longing for super wide angle at 10 or 12mm?
