First Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 E-mount unboxing and image samples (in Stock in Europe!)
Sony NEX-5N with new E-mount lenses (Carl Zeiss 24mmf1.8/ 50mmf1.8/ 16mmf2.8).
UPDATE: The Zeiss 24mm for NEX is Stock at Sony stores online in Netherland (Click here), France (Click here), Sweden (Click here), Spain (Click here), Italy (Click here), Germany (Click here) and Amazon Germany (Click here).
Some guy at Mobile01 (Click here) already posted the first unboxing pictures (you have to click on the green links to open the pictures). Cnet Asia (Click here) posted a full lens review: “It isn’t cheap for an E-mount lens–or an F1.8 prime lens for that matter–but the new Zeiss on the block definitely has the potential to gain a fan base among more demanding NEX users who can appreciate a fast and sharp prime.” There is also a NEX-7+Zeiss lens test at Fengniao.
And than Luminous Landscape (Click here) added a new Zeiss lens test on their NEX-7 rolling review. He made an image comparison with the ultra-expensive Leica 24mm f/1.4 Summilux (Click here to see it on eBay). Conclusion: "Given all of the above, the 24mm Zeiss stands up to the Leica Summilux very well indeed. It bests it in some areas, holds its own in some, and falls slightly behind elsewhere. Overall this is a stunning performance. With the 24mm f/1.8 Zeiss Sonnar Sony has produced a lens which photographers will find more than exceeds expectations. At $1,000 it isn’t inexpensive, but then considering how well it holds up to the industry’s benchmark, costing almost 6X the price, it actually is a relative bargain.”

2 years ago |I will look for an used sample from the US. 1,000 Euros is simply too much.

2 years ago |I wonder if A-mount 50mm Zeiss will be somehow cheaper than this lens.

2 years ago |It’s not beyond the realms of possibility I suppose – 50mm lenses are usually fairly simple. The 24mm has the metal build quality (and I believe) SSM motor of most of the other ZAs, so it could happen.

2 years ago |wonderous Zeiss hey! look how it renders her hair. what other glass does that? none i tell you!! bokeh heaven too, great idea with the focussing. Some more roaming with more subjects needs to be done though, i will be keeping an eye on youtube for more shots.

2 years ago |Pretty sure the closeup shot you are referring to was with the new 50mm 1.8, not the Zeiss.
Still both lenses look fantastic in this clip…

2 years ago |Guys, are you serious? What can you see at this youtube resolution? ‘how it renders her hair”, come on…
You can see it’s shallow DOF, that’s about it. It could be any old lens…

2 years ago |People in China have been shooting with this lens for almost a month already, and there are at least a dozen shooters on Xitek got their hands on the lens… Dealers already have them in stock in Beijing and Shanghai for a couple weeks by now…

2 years ago |The video is awesomeness. For people like me who just start to be interess in photography, I wonder how a camera like a “simple” NEX-5N is able to do this, even if I know that Carl Zeiss lences are sick
.
Just started to lay money aside to buy this camera <3… Yes, in Europe 1$ is 1€ in anyway…
