(Now Sold Out) Zeiss 24mm for NEX in Stock at BHphoto.

Don’t miss the chance to grab one of the (very few) Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 lenses that are in Stock right now at BHphoto (Click here). That lens is so difficult to find (at least in US stores). Amazon (Click here) has an overpriced used copy only for sale (Click here). Sony really needs to push the lens production. And as long as the Zeiss isn’t available I fear we have to wait until we can get the other new NEX lens(es) that will be announced soon!
UPDATE: Now Sold Out!

12 months ago |Got this just yesterday for only $750 brand new after almost a year of waiting. You can sure find a good deal if you know your way around in Asia. Just like my $300 for Oly 45mm that I got the same week it was announced.
Though I’ve got to admit that some of the US deals is very hard to beat for abundant products. (Like GF3s)

Maybe SONY is phasing the 24 f/1.8 out as a Tamron pancake replacement is almost ready.

12 months ago |The only good Sony lens for NEX. Sony release some new NEX lenses ASAP as your system has the worst lenses of all the mirrorless systems.

12 months ago |Yet again Sony… Lenses lenses lenses. Time & time again its the same old story – lack of lenses holding Sony back… When are they going to see what everyone else can see & realise that some decent investment in lens production could lead to exponential growth of their camera business?
Biggest moan you hear about the Alpha line – the lens lineup is lacking.
Biggest moan you hear about the NEX line – the lens linup is severely lacking.
Yes Sony you make some fine cameras, but that is only one side of the equation. You need lenses to take a good picture too.
Sony really need to take their head out of the sand. Yes I know their financial status is not too good at the moment, but they need to take on some business basics – it takes money to make money. How much potential income could be gained against the cost of some serious lens manufacturing infrastructure????
Yes the NEX line does ok but I have a feeling that Canon are going to release their mirrorless camera with the large sensor bonus of the NEX & then just plain blow Sony out of contention with only a couple of lenses.

12 months ago |Sony strategy is one lens per body: one released camera, one released lens. Sony released 24 A-mount cameras and 23 A-mount lenses (without re-badged Minolta). In E-mount is 6 cameras and 8 lenses. As you see, regarding E-mount, lens department already outperformed camera department
Steve
12 months ago |And most of the 23 A-Mount lenses are for APS-C bodies only
Mr Mom
12 months ago |I guess I’m throwing off your numbers since I have four A-mount lenses (one A-mount camera) and five E-Mount lenses (four Sony & one Sigma) to go with my NEX-5N.

Not true. You have forgotten to count E-mount videocams.

12 months ago |Gotta love the bonehead on Amazon. “I don’t really have a NEX camera, but I bought the last one in stock due to demand”.
He should have just added…”And now I’m here selling it to you for a $300-350 markup, and giving $100 of that to Amazon for the privilege.”
At least he offers lifetime warranty…although good luck collecting on it after 60 days.

12 months ago |I have one but not had the chance to do any serious shooting with it yet. And now my NEX-5N is being repaired because the touchscreen does not respond. The first photographic item I have had to send in on warrantee, ever.

12 months ago |I really don’t understand why this lens is not available all the time. Are there really so much NEX buyers buying this 1000 dollar/euro lens? At least this tells me that it is a very popular product. It amazes me that Sony sells the probably most expensive mirrorless AF lens so well. I agree with you that Sony really needs to put some emphasis on lens selection and availability. Where’s my 35 f1.8 e-mount?

12 months ago |Sony refuses to up lens production?? Seriously, what is wrong with Sony when it comes to production? Any other business seems to adjust for demand except Sony. The flood gave them some serious slack, but Sony has had more than enough time to do whatever is needed to up production. Atleast on the one lens?? Wtf Sony, what exactly is the new management team doing for us again?
