Sony didn’t manage to get into the top 3. I am sure they want to make it right this year. I really hope they will launch some awesome new stuff.

4 years ago |Sony you need to pull your finger out in your DSLR department for 2010.
Sony, you have two things Nikon and Canon don’t and that is, in body image stabilisation and Zeiss lenses but it is not enough.
What you must include in your 2010 DSLR models is
1) VIDEO!!! And for this to tip the sales in your favour the video must be better than either the Canon 7D or the 1DIV.
2) Liveview on all models, that includes off the sensor liveview for the pentaprism models.
3) Comparable noise levels to Nikon and Canon at high ISO.
4) More Zeiss lenses and weatherproof them. They cost a fortune as it is so there is no excuse not to have them fully weatherproofed.
5) Stop making your cameras so ugly. The latest lower range models were a step in the right direction because the A700 and A900 would not win any beauty contests.

4 years ago |Wow… this is totally different than anything in europe. Casio took second place?! Here Casio cameras are one having most dust on them in shops. Only good thing they have is high-fps. All the other stuff is waaay below the norm.
And Panasonic took 3rd place in interchangeables? Perhaps GH1 is a nice camera but you won’t find any Panasonic interchangeable lens camera between bestsellers (but they are on compact cameras bestsellers lists)… really odd market.

4 years ago |I agree with James in most of his arguments, except for the design of the DSLR cameras and it should NOT be a video function in a proffessionel DSLR. If you want to record videos, Sony has the best cameras for that! a900 is a beautiful camera and it looks powerful if you compare it with the ugly Canon cameras. Nikon D3 is also looking good but a850 and a900 is the two best looking DSLR:s at the moment.
Opt instead to make a “real” good Professional DSLR with the best ISO performence, and higher frame rate.
