Kipon to release a huge ammount of different adapters for the NEX system!
The chinese company Kipon announced that “To meet the adapter demand for SONY new NEX series mirrorless camera,belowed models are under production currently,we anticipate all will be finished before July 16.”

June 28, 2010 |Superb! I am delighted with how engineering companies are stepping up to the mark and quickly producing adapters. Pre-release there were only a couple of companies that said they would be producing, but now there are many more.

yeah it is too much for it. But I think I’d prefer the Sony version as its likely to have AF for SSM, given some reports we’ve had from Users with newer/older? firmwares.

June 28, 2010 |The Sony adapter has also an electric coupling that allow the camera to command the lens aperture, thus all modes (including shutter priority and, for those who fancy them, scene modes) are available when only manual mode and aperture priority are available with third-party adapters. And EXIF data are correctly reported too.
A drawback of the Sony adapter though: it is strictly limited to APS-C with its internal “window”. If Sony ever launch a NEX with a full-frame sensor, one will have to buy a new adapter.

June 28, 2010 |I just wish Sony would release a cheaper NEX-5 without a lens. If they would do that, I’d buy one right now, and one of these adapters and play with manual focus lenses for a couple months.
As it is, I’m forced to wait for the 18-200 kit to be released.

Or buy a kit now, and sell the kit lens. There are plenty of people who want both kit lenses where the double lens kit isn’t available.
Also, the Sony alpha-mount adapter includes a tripod mount for better balance, something 3rd party adapters likely won’t have.

June 30, 2010 |elly, you mean an adapter to use a Canon EF 28-80 on a Sony NEX? If so, I’m afraid no: since EF lens coupling is totally electric / electronic, you could only use it wide open without any possibility to settle any other aperture.
