Because they are BETTER ? I never chose Sony because price, but because I like what camera(s) have to offer.And second I don’t thing that for the same class (so compare apple with apples…) Sony cameras are cheaper than Canikon ones.

I think Sony is not so much concerned with using “Sony” in the name, but not to create the impression that the rumours here are “official” and sanctioned by them.

I know another company which will sue an apple farm if would use the fruit name in their domain name, however…

This was a very good decision from Sony. The specs are free, no royalty but you can not just download them at least for now. I suppose you need to ask Sony for them.

The sensor yes is Sony, but the filter layers are Nikon.This is same with most sensors sold by Sony.

One more proof tham megapixel sell. Not sure how hard is for Sony to have 2 prototype with different sensors (the sensor size is the same ) or how late in the game is camera already, but if I would be Sony and I could still have an option I would chose the 36 Mpixel [...]

I think there is no problem with third paty batteries for A77/A65 lines (all work). On NEX series I would say about half of third party work , it’s hard to say because many of them could come from the same manufacturer’s under different names. No, NEX7 like all new Sony Alpha, has ONLY ONE slot! You plug a Memory Stick on it with the label on one side.You plug an SD card in the same slot with the labelon the other side. If you have an external reader which takes SD/MS it’s the same way.

Remember, when you plug the card (SD), the side with the contacts (with no labe on it) goes on the battery side.If you use a Memory Stick, the labels are on the battery side (exactly opposite to SD) , on the same slot.

I think somebody played a “joke” with Carl,the rumour had to many of his own desired features on the list. I very much doubt it was any development done and dropped. Remember Sony did this with A77, started the deveopment for an A750, got it almost finished, and dropped it to develop A77.They lost close [...]

Who really cares if you can take 400 or 800 photos with one battery? I allways carry 3 with me.Batteries are cheap you can buy third party ones for 10-15$. Buy 2 and forget about it.
