Is it just me, or does it seem like they just released the same camera like 5 times now?

AVESTA commented on the blog post (SR4) Sony wants to price the A99 as low as possible. It’s a Full Frame A77
1 month ago · ViewYeah, I keep hearing that too but it makes no sense from what people are requesting. It’s just obscure stuff, and most of it already exists out there. Zeiss already made a 16mm-35mm and a 24mm-70mm. Both f2.8 and SSM. 85mm f1.4 and a 135mm f1.8. All amazing (Some of the best lenses ever made). [...]

AVESTA commented on the blog post (SR4) Sony wants to price the A99 as low as possible. It’s a Full Frame A77
1 month ago · ViewAs people have already stated… it’s a trigger. Otherwise, you’ll have to spend another $300-$600 buying one of the expensive Sony flashes to trigger your other expensive Sony flashes.

AVESTA commented on the blog post (SR4) Sony wants to price the A99 as low as possible. It’s a Full Frame A77
1 month ago · ViewI agree 100%… I love how most of the people who complain about the camera not being “pro” enough, aren’t even using Zeiss prime lenses to back it up. What good is a high res processor if you can’t even utilize it’s full potential with quality glass? Less money on body means more money on [...]

AVESTA commented on the blog post Sony reinvents the sensor with “RGBW Coding” and “HDR Movie” Functions! 3 months, 4 weeks ago · View
The F828 was amazing when it came to color reproduction. Some of my best pics were taken with that camera.
I don’t understand why they ever abandoned it. -
AVESTA commented on the blog post Sony A55 officially discontinued in Japan! 4 months ago · View
Yeah, I’m serious… your link was referencing the A200 not the A100 which is what I’m talking about. And really, DXOMARK only talks about tech specs which doesn’t apply here. A CCD sensor with the exact same score as a CMOS will still look different. It’s like comparing Analog to Digital, you can’t say that [...]

Yup… I wish they would bring back CCDs. The A100 is still outdoing a lot of their new cameras. SAD!

“it’s difficult to continue producing that product at that price”
In other words… the A900 is gonna be worth a lot to specific users and collectors soon.

AVESTA commented on the blog post POLL results analysis: Here are the fullframe lenses you want! 6 months ago · View
Well, I don’t really care much if it’s the 1.0 or 1.4 as long as its a fast Zeiss. and those were the only 2 options to vote for. So, if they decide to make a 1.0 or nothing… guess what, I’ll take the 1.0. For me a fast 50mm Zeiss just makes more sense [...]

AVESTA commented on the blog post POLL results analysis: Here are the fullframe lenses you want! 6 months ago · View
Well, for someone who only shoots with primes I can get more use out of the 50 than I can out of the 24-105 considering I have most everything in-between except a 50. Zooms are useless to me.

AVESTA commented on the blog post Image samples with the dream combination: NEX-7 + Zeiss 24mm lens. 8 months, 1 week ago · View
“there is no price advantage to this combo vs a DSLR for me” Yeah, because every APS-C DSLR that costs around $1000 can shoot at a resolution of 24MP and has Full AVCHD video capabilities at 24P, 30P and 60P… and did we forget the OLED display and the fact that it’s mirrorless too! Yeah, [...]

AVESTA commented on the blog post We need your suggestions for the next Sony fullframe cameras! 8 months, 2 weeks ago · View
I actually think people would buy the b/w specific sensor. Flickr has millions of users exclisively shooting black and white film. Right now nothing can touch medium format film when it comes to that stuff and we seriously need a digital equivalent.

AVESTA commented on the blog post Sony’s wants to create a “Super Reality” sensor! 8 months, 2 weeks ago · View
I think the explanation is getting a bit complicated here. People just need to remember that the moment you view an image on a monitor or a printed you basically loose any of the extra “super reality” information. when you take a IR photo and print it out, you’re obviously not viewing that image in [...]

microscopes don’t surpass human vision in spectrum, merely in magnification. but it’s really a moot point considering microscopes can’t even function without human vision. So, they don’t surpass us in anything.

AVESTA commented on the blog post A NEX-7 close look. Why is it the most preordered camera? 8 months, 3 weeks ago · View
Dude, there’s something called crop and resize… let me introduce something called Photoshop. The fact is, a picture taken at 24mp and resized to 16mp is going to look better than one taken at 16mp right off the bat. You can stick to low res, but I’d much rather have the flexibility. You know Genuine [...]
