Renewing the existing lens range and dropping support for screw drive AF would allow getting rid of the in-body AF/MF switch. That would make the camera controls more unified/logical and lower production costs too. Makes sense to me.

If those dimensions are accurate, I’m disappointed.
Being that much much bigger than the a55, ergonomics and handling are probably a lot better but it’ll also be bulkier to travel with.

Thanks for the links! Just updated my A55 firmware: ver 1 –> ver 2. Haven’t done any shooting with it yet, but at least the new menu options are there. Perhaps I’ll start using more scene specific white balance settings now that the menu is accessible with a single press of a button. Too bad [...]

Looking at the photos of the transparent mock-up (http://www.photographyblog.com/news/transparent_sony_a77_hands-on/), I’d say the screen will be articulated, with the hinges on the bottom – like on the A55.

There’s no eBay in Finland but the Pixmania link seems to work.
