Surely the Zeiss lenses will be fine but personally I hope that SLR Magic is able to release something similar for a more reasonable price.

In fact, the CINE opens even wider (F0.92). Perhaps you should think about changing the body in order to be able to adapt M-mount lenses

Helge Hackbarth commented on the blog post Lots of Sony 50mm for NEX reviews! 2 months, 3 weeks ago · View
On the NEX-7 you have enough potential for cropping to the view of a 60mm still leaving you more pixel than with most other cams. So you are a bit more flexible with 50mm when distance to subject can not be enlarged.

Hi dyna, as you qouted this from my review and as I am not a native English speaker, you perhaps can suggest me a better wording? Yesterday I used that lens to record sequences for a dance video and I was very glad to have AF. My Summilux 50/1.4 ASPH is ahead in terms of [...]

It’s definitely more glass and metal than in a Leica Noctilux for about the same price.

If you shoot 50mm on the NEX-7, a 90mm (equiv.) crop would still have >16 MP or so more than enough for most puproses. But you have more options if you already stand back to the wall and a 60mm (90mm equiv.) lens still does not show all, you want to get…

In the setup an adapter from Novoflex was used, that is very precise. The article contains also a link t still photos in high resolution that prove correct focussing.

The intention was to compare the cameras as close to their default setup as possible. This is, what the manufacturers usually understand as best compromise for a typical mix of situations.
If you try to use sharpening settings, moiré may be even worse.

What kind of pixelpeeping do you mean?
With exception from the 720p50 sequence scaled to 1080p for better comparison, there are no magnifications – just the resolution that you see on any FullHD TV monitor anyway (if you really watch the original video fullscreen). That’s what current video cameras are intended for.

“if you don’t believe me, stop the video at 00:36 put the full screen mode and look at the brick wall!!”
PLEASE take into account, that in the first sequence, the 720p50 mode of the GH2 (upscaled to 1080 lines) was compared to the 1080p50 mode of the NEX-7 !!!

Helge Hackbarth commented on the blog post Sony reinvents the sensor with “RGBW Coding” and “HDR Movie” Functions! 3 months, 4 weeks ago · View
I wonder why just a different pattern should increase dynamic range or lowlight capability of a sensor? The only difference for me is that a different pattern like recently shown by Fuji helps to avoid or at least reduce moiré if the sensor comes without AA-filter. But cameras like the Leica M9 and now the [...]
