no, DOF dont varies with sensor sise, it varies with focal distance, distance to the subject and aperture sise.

for Sony to outperform the G1X is very simple, just put an EVF, canon’s OVF is a joke!

the difference between a professional and a non-professional is if you are paid or not, not the camera you use.

yep, a bokeh machine tha you wouldn’t buy cause of it’s price tag…
if you want a bokeh machine you have the zeiss 85mm, it has a shalower dof than any 50mm ever made.
f1.2 are lenses from the film era, when the maximum usable ISO you had was 800.

we really need another 50mm for full frame
a Zeiss 50/1.4 would be very nice! but sony can’t discontinue the current model, unless they make another “low cost” model, a new 50/1.4 or a 50/1.8 FF (cause the current one is APS)

the Sony 50/1.4 is a really good performer, but only in APS-C, in FF it suffers alot in the corners…

for me, performance is not just the numbers from DXO

no, the chip is exactly the same, i’ve seen photos of somone striping the sensor of a nikon (D7000, if i’m not mistaken) and it had Sony writen in a part of the sensor), and i dont see what’s the problem of that! Nikon dont do their back lcd’s neither, and i dont see any [...]

-so you want a all-around FF lens that starts on 28mm… this is not the 80′s! – a 70-200/4 wold be nice -with an 24/2 and a 28/2.8(a litle outdated) i think that are more important thing to do – a 35/2 would be nice, but if you are APS the 35/1.8 its pretty good [...]

if the D600 is a dumbed down D800 what nikonions will use for sports without spending almost €6000 for a D4? if nikon wants a FF to do the D300 job (high fps, buffer, excelent built quality, superb viewfinder…) they will have to price it high, the D300s wasn’t cheap, imagine if its a FF… [...]

it cant be arround 1500 USD, so how much would cost the future D400, yes, because Nikon doesnt hava a good cheap camera for sports (FF or APS-C), and the D300s is now outdated what can happen is the D600 have the FF 24mpx sensor and bigger buffer and more fps than the D800, but [...]

well i shoot sports, specially on the beach, and i dont want nothing like a D800… it does 4 fps… c’mon… not even Sony’s entry level cameras do that anymore, and for what? 36mpx?? who needs that?? the quality of the A77 is very good, it even matches the Canon 7D in low light high [...]

no, the way to sell a 24mpx is to improve performance over the A900 and A77
if sony does it right it’s a winner! and the SLT technology will prove superiority over SLR
-
Hellven commented on the blog post (SR5) A99 in late August (with teaser coming in Summer?). 4 weeks ago · View
24mpx is much more reasonable, because of FPS, buffer, memory cards space, storage and workflow
would you like 4fps like the D800 as well? i wouldnt

Hellven commented on the blog post (SR5) A99 in late August (with teaser coming in Summer?). 4 weeks ago · View
Sony should do what none of the canikon do – cheap FF for sports if they do that i’ll buy it instead of the A77 -FF 24mpx (never 36 because of buffer) -bigger buffer e processing speed (arround 2 or 3s of burst) -12fps or more, and give the choice of burst speed in steps [...]
