Luminous Landscape has been an excellent source of good information and praises on the NEX-7, and is reporting on a real anoying issue. It’s a shame that Sony doesn’t seem to be paying attention to their customers, especially on a issue that could be minimized by a simple firmware upgrade ( maybe having the video [...]

Looks like a nice lens, although the note doesn’t say if it’s an “A” or “E” mount lens! Anyway, considering how much you’re excited about the NEX cameras, I assume it’s an “E” mount…!!

Tamron lenses are usually very good, mainly the SP ones. I jsut hope Sony will make it even better ( tests had shown this Tamron to be soft at corners when wide open and above 150mm ). Price is also a concern, Sony’s version is always more expensive…!

This is a rumor… the facts may be different! Anyway, the majority of Sony’s income on sensors comes from APS-C and compact cameras, used by most others manufacturers ( for sure other than Canon and Panasonic ). IMO, not supplying FF sensors to Nikon won’t be a great blow on Sony, they must have a very clear contract with all the business safety as [...]

Just another too expensive conservative ( or old…? ) design FF camera, nothing to write home about!Wth an A77 and an A900, what else do I need? Well, maybe an A99…!

It’s more than time to leave those “OVFxEVF” and “SLT x SLR” discussions for the competition ( IMHO C&N and the others are the ones to worry about that, Sony’s present and future technology is already “cast in stone” – all others will have to play catch up ). Let’s be realistic and mature enough to get on [...]

If it really works and is just a software thing, it would be excellent to be added to A65/77 as a Firmware revision, with a menu item to turn it on/off!!

I took the time to see the entire video, and unfortunately Caleb is just another Canon biased video shooter… I know it’s a video review, and he comments only from that point of view, but his obvious lack of knowledge on still shooting makes him blind to any of the great features of the A77 even in [...]

Lucas commented on the blog post Sony A55 officially discontinued in Japan! 4 months ago · View
That’s a hard to understand decision from Sony! The A55 is an excellent camera for the price, is only one year old and it’s still selling very well. The only reason stop its production I can think of is to make room for A65/77 production ( still very low ) and maybe also for NEX [...]

Sony will certainly loose income with one more delay since some FF users may not be able to wait till September, anyway it seems to be a wise decision to make sure current products get more attention at this time and the A99 is launched as a mature product. To keep Sony “alive”, I hope two major things [...]

Lucas commented on the blog post (SR4) One more APS-C model in the works (A75?) 7 months, 1 week ago · View
I vote for an A75 with 20MP sensor and clean of noise up to ISO6400 and with some less bells and whistles than the A77. However it will be in-beteen A65 and A77 in the so-called “piramid”. I see no sense in another APS-C camera above the A77 which is roughly in its infancy and [...]

Sony seems to be planning for more than one FF body, so my ideal FF body would be: – Same A77 body, features and V-Grip, with internal modifications to accomodate the larger FF sensor and mirror. – 30MP FF sensor with A77’s technology, then allowing even better signal/noise ratio ( ISO6400 as A77’s ISO3200 ) due to lower [...]
