yes you are perfectly right, but most bird shooters have their camera on a tripod and they can just look with their own eyes when something comes, then turn on camera, and snap away.
With this camera they won’t scare animals away either cause it won;t have the annoying mirror sound.

depends for what you want it, if you look at pictures 100% on th screen i am sure noise will be higher, but if you print… then a 24mp file will have more detail than a 12mp file, even at high ISO.

did you by any change forget that sony also makes a 50mm f/1.8 for 1504? which is at least 2 times better optically that the canon equivalent. just look at how olympus priced their 45mm f/1.8 and the considering all that the sony is price accordingly assuming it’s great optically and mechanically ok.

if the 24mm f/1.8 is very good optical quality and the combo nex7+24mm focuses fast i will surely buy both, perfect walking around kit for basically everything, and i know some people might say, why don’t just buy the fuji x100, well i much rather have a camera with a decent grip and interchangeable lenses.

well, considering that olympus made a killer contrast AF system, i would say that’s a more convenient way to go, you have a very fast AF, no translucent mirror to block light, and no mirror to add vibration. hmm, do canon or nikon have a license with zeiss for autofocus lenses? that was the first sign for me that sony is here to stay in the camera world

my best guess would be about the news in the past that sony nikon and sandisk acknowledged the need for super fast memory cards and that they were working together to create those cards.

this is very interesting would be a camera many users will enjoy to take out and use instead of their big dslr and it should sell well cause most of us already have the lenses ready

as far as the 30mm is concerned i don;t mind if they never bring it out… they should do some 50′s ASAP cause they are easier to make in a small size.

that macro lens looks bigger than the current 30mm macro f/2.8 made for a mount… not really a nice lens for nex, wonder why it’s so big, maybe the autofocus system takes up a lot of space.

you’ll be surprised that some macro pictures work a lot better on a 30mm lens than on a 100mm or 200mm lens. I am glad sony did the 30mm in alpha mount, it helps me tackle wide angle macro as well. I love the fact it drops a shadow, pictures in direct sunlight are seldom [...]

that is what the 50mm f/1.8 is for though a 50mm f/1.4 would sell so they probably won’t let it go, and they might add the 50mm f/1.2 which should have bewitching bokeh or don’t even bother with it, sharpness at f/1.2 would be as important if bokeh is nice.
