I already moved to another brand. This waiting was just ridiculous

They could’ve announced this camera at Photokina. I still don’t understand why Sony had to make a separate announcement for this. At least they should have announced the new firmware release too.

I hope Sony releases everything about the Nex cameras as soon as they can so they can focus in developing and releasing the semi-pro DSLR cameras.

Time to buy an A580 next November to use until the new cameras are released?

Sony should announce the cameras early so we can know if it’s worth the wait. I want to know what’s exactly that “very advanced innovation”

I’m thinking the same way. I want to buy an A580 in November to use it until the A7x/A7xx gets released and then switch to that new model. In the other hand I’m very tempted to sell all my gear and switch to a Nikon D7000 and start bulding a Nikon system. Very confusing days [...]

Perhaps Canon and Nikon users may feel jealous because of this lens but we, Alpha users, have felt jealous hundreds of times when we see the release of high quality semi-pro and pro bodies such as EOS 7D, D90, D7000, D300, 5D Mark II, and so on.

Only time will tell. If Sony doesn’t release a firmaware update for the A33/A55 by the end of this year that will mean they are not working in the Alpha line as hard as they’re doing with the Nex line.

I would’ve been nice to see this lens compared face to face with the Nikon 85mm f/1.4G AF-S NIKKOR and the Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM

I don’t think Sony is going to release a firmware update for the A33/A55 cameras soon. They’re more focused in developing, selling and upgrading the NEX Line for amateur photographers. That’s why they release an A-Mount camera and forget about it.

I wonder by the time the A7X/A7XX gets released, what the other companies would be offering?

Remember Sony is at least 2 years behind the competition in terms of semi-pro bodies.

I think that telephoto zoom is for Nex cameras. Nothing new for the A-Mount

The A850 is a good camera but there are some problems with it – ISO performance is not the best (I shoot a lot of handheld pictures and I want them to look sharp and nice) – No live view so no moveable Screen – No video support (That’s not a real problem for me) [...]

Having both choices would be OK and fair. One year is way too much time to bring a new camera that will offer what other brands have being offering in the last two years. What’s left to develop to start building and selling the A700 replacement? SLT technology is here, good sensors are here, OVF [...]

So far nothing new in the Alpha division. We already knew about what they’ve shown until now. The mock-up looks fine, I liked it since the day it was shown at PMA. i just want this camera to have OVF, is that too much to ask?

Very good camera. I just want something like that with the Sony brand.

If only we could sell our lenses easily but that’s difficult and everybody wants to pay just a little amount of money for them
