The SAL35F14G is sharp (or at least my example is on my A900) whereas the SAL50F14 is a blunt spoon to the SAL35F14′s scalpel. About the only thing wrong with the 35mm is the screw drive.

@sonypoo You are pretty rude and dumb. You are right that you’ll find more noise on an a900 picture compared to a 5d mk ii or a D700. Equally the resolution of the a900 picture is far greater, so the noise is less relevant. It’s usually possible to completely remove noise with no visible trace [...]

I recently sold an A77 to go full frame with a used A900 which I picked up for £1200 on eBay. Best purchase I ever made. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an SLT Hater, I just wanted full frame. Of course it lacks a movie mode but it is a superior camera with superior [...]

I have the Zeiss 24mm F2 for my A900. Its razor sharp and AF is SSM, not screw drive. I also own the Zeiss 16-35 and again, it’s an SSM lens and beats the pants off the Canikon competitors.

neither Canon nor Nikon innovate that much. They don’t have to because much of their stranglehold is based on dealer recommendation, not user experience.
The 5d Iii illustrates this perfectly,

Fair enough, but buying into a system is that – unless you have money to burn on good lenses it doesn’t make much sense to jump ship because you don’t like the latest body. The whole evf/OVF thing is overblown anyway. I own a x100 as my carry everywhere camera. It’s essentially an a700 with [...]

The A900 is actually cheaper if you shop around, but it is a discontinued model now.

Very sad this split personality thing. Terrible to watch your slide into madness MCP…
I didn’t put the original post up, so it’s either you or someone hates your guts. It’s almost like you went onto a website, trolled it, and people thought you were a c@ck as a consequence.

Insecure Sony apologists? Why does it surprise you that people who like their cameras don’t want a troll pointlessly slagging them off.
I hate quotes appended to posts. It distracts from any message you might have had.
So what camera do you own MCP?

Yes, I bought a A100 when it came out because I had no desire to follow the crowd. I now have an A900 and am very happy with it. Am looking forward to the new Sony body, but its about the lenses once you have them, right?

The wee man is having a melt down. It’s like watching a mid-life crisis or mental breakdown. Quite entertaining from the outside looking in. Good to see he has hit a downer with his comment 10 minutes ago. What does “end of line” mean anyway? He may refer to himself as a “gargantuan cunt” (and [...]

There is no benefit to OSS in a lens of a certain size (I can’t remember it exactly but it’s greater than 30mm and less than 50mm). That’s why the SEL24F18Z (24mm Zeiss) has no OSS and the SEL50F18 (50mm Sony) does have OSS. So no need to call for OSS where it would be [...]
