After Samyang, Sigma and Tamron also Yasuhara announced a new lens for the NEX system. It is the Madoka 180, a fisheye lens with 180 degrees. Yasuhara is a small japanese company that has a long history of making Leica clones (click here to see the Yasuhara Type 1 M-mount camera). What follows is the official press release text (via Yasuhara.eu)

2 years ago |Samyang 8/3.5 already had 180 degrees. This lens is a lot smaller, but the new Samyang 8/2.8 will likely be much more desirable.
EDIT: Ah, apparently its rendering is different from the Samyang lenses. Less useful for me, but perhaps someone really needs a circular fisheye.
Vlad
2 years ago |I wonder how it compares to the Samyang.

2 years ago |can someone explain to a photography newbie what a 180 degrees lens is?
Olaf
2 years ago |It’s a lens that gives you a 180 degree view in each direction. So from the center of the picture 90 degrees to the top bottom left and right.
Fuzzphoto
2 years ago |To bad it’s not a diagonal fisheye, like the Samyang 8mm f/3.5
I find diagonals much more useful.
@Waldomarek: take a look at the example photos.

2 years ago |Finally a 180 degree fisheye for E-Mount! Too bad it has such bad CA problems … Yeah, fisheyes generally have CA, but this seems a bit too much. (LOL, I almost wrote too bad it has barrel distortion problems ^^)

+6 on “Red-Cyan fringe” is about right.

2 years ago |I still think the Samyang 8mm will be better I have the A mount version and its great
Poki
2 years ago |Yeah, the Samyang is pretty much the best fisheye you can get for 300 bucks. And the new 7,5mm is even small enough — and faster, which can be handy sometimes even at a fisheye.

Mist
2 years ago |how much does it cost?
Vlad
2 years ago |Multiply the weight by the length, then divide by the diameter and multiply again by the max focal length – 533US.

2 years ago |When Sony released the engineering data for the e-mount to third party lens makers, I expected tokina, tamron, sigma, to really come to the rescue so to speak. Sigma has made a lens, but has tokina or tamron? It seems like only obscure never heard of lens makers are coming up with some manual focus lenses, what’s the deal with this situation?

2 years ago |Ekskewzmi… Didn’t Tamron already come out with the 18-200 for E-mount?
Back to the topic of this post, I don’t see any situation where I would need a circ. FE. Maybe someone can enlighten me?
emarsh
2 years ago |Yes, Tamron did just come out with that lens, I forgot that one. Are there any others? But 18-200mm was already covered by Sony, yes it’s fine to have another option but not all that exciting. I want third party options with AF from the major players, and lenses that are not yet available from Sony. I would like to see Tokina take a stab at a wide angle zoom, that would be the crop equivalent of their 19-35mm or 20-35mm that they had for the Minolta AF mount. Maybe they just can’t do it, simply because of the differences between 35mm film cameras and 1.5 crop factor digital sensors. Something is holding them back from doing so.

2 years ago |I’m surprised that Tokina hasn’t msde an E-mount version of their well regarded 11-16mm f/2.8.
Duclos Lenses make conversion of this lens (new barrel, etc with Tokina glass) as a PL mount for Digital Cinema cameras http://www.ducloslenses.com/products/duclos-11-16mm This lens is popular enough that there ia waiting list. If Tokina made an E-mount version of the 11-16mm f/2.8, there would be plenty of FS100 owners who would buy it.
Vlad
2 years ago |Now that would be really nice.
Matt
2 years ago |FS100 buyers can already use the A-Mount version with LA-EA1/2. I’m guessing that FS100 users don’t really care about the extra size of the A-Mount version + adapter.

2 years ago |Sigma have released 2, Tamron 1. Which is better than your stated Sigma 1 Tamron 0. It is a start and proof that those 3rd parties are working on E-Mount. One question, does the Samyang (etc) lenses for E-Mount have electronic connection to the bodies? I know they don’t on A-Mount due to licensing, but if I understand correctly Sony have opened E-Mount to all manufacturers freely, therefore shouldn’t the Samyang’s report EXIF data etc?

2 years ago |.. I think every lens producer is waiting for canon to release her mirrorless system! .. If it wll be APSC … tamron, tokina, sigma, will produce all the third party lens we need.

2 years ago |It looks like the prices of the Sony-Zeiss E-Sonnar 24/1.8 is dropping, at least, in the Netherlands.
The lowest price now is below 900 Euros down from 1000 Euros.
