You are just too carried away by the rumors from SAR! Hahaha

2 years ago |I’ll keep my Nex-5, as I’m waiting for a Nex with a pivot screen, hopefully like the one A77 has. With all the actual models it’s not that comfortable to look in the screen in portrait mode while shooting unnoticed at waist level.
Bugger
2 years ago |Yea true.
When I got the NEX 5 I was like…nah I don’t really need the screen the turn sideways.
Then, the 2nd time I went out with the camera, I really, really wished I had that lol

2 years ago |this is/has been the achilles heal in the NEX line for me (and most of all these little cameras..) i want to shoot portrait (preferably waist level)like a old TLR..something special about street portraiture/ straight ups from that height.
i really hoped the 7 would have the pivoting screen, combined with the 24megapixel it would have been perfect for me
probably still get one instead of nex-5n plus viewfinder..price difference doesn’t seem to much

2 years ago |he looks a little ashamed when saying that marketing bs about 7 available e-mount lenses right now.
NEXfive
2 years ago |Yeah, also “optically the same lens” wasn’t his fun line after pointing out the black lens body colour, so he changed topic to origami instead of explaining the new lens compensation feature. Could anybody of the new NEX-5N users post two pictures somewhere taken with SEL-16F28 at f/2.8 one with lens compensation and one without? Still very curious about that…

2 years ago |You can sell it the NEX-5N Andrea and get NEX-7, as well you may loose £100.00 from NEX-5N.
Available around mid November but I can only get it in January 2012, fair price for me would be £800.00 just the camera and £1000.00 with the lens.
I know they want to introduce as semi-pro level but there is a lot of things missing comparing with A77 thinks like (GPS, Splash proof, 12FPS, Motor grip, 19 cross focus system, and bla bla bla….).
Jiri
2 years ago |90% of these features could have been included in the NEX-7 without a major increase of its size, weight and price, too. Sony obviously want just one flagship in their APSC segment. But that attitude is short-sighted I believe.
KingRenas
2 years ago |Well it was battery grip i was trying to say instead of motor grip.
Wirralpix
2 years ago |That looks to be an impressive photographic tool. Notice the advantage of the mirrorless or SLT, non OVF camera. Changes made to shutter speed, f-stop and ISO are instantly seen on screen and I do like the three dial system. The only problem is I can buy the A77 body only for the same price but these are exciting times for Sony shooters.

2 years ago |Not only are Nikon and Canon caught without a response to the NEX-7 but Leica with their problematic M9P are looking like antique “peddlers” with their 1930′s artifact rangefinder …alas, the ascension of Sony
KingRenas
2 years ago |Since a was a kid I knew Leica was the best camera around, but now I’m over 30′s and still no cheap toy at all. Only deep pockets can get that, is like you buying a Kawasaki Ninja or Smart car with leather seats.
Canon and Nikon are playing cat and mouse they want to see the market reaction and later put their claws on it. They conquered the hearts of millions around the world even mine with Nikon, soon they will launch something new in the market everybody will follow it because of the reputation they have in the market even if the quality is not there. But since i bought Sony NEX-5 last year i want to continue to follow the NEX series and Sony is helping with that by launching a variety of cameras for all tastes not just for photography but was well for video.
I just hope Sigma can create nice lenses for the E-mount and fill the gap with extra lenses which Sony didn’t delivery yet. Full auto-focus mode and silent drive as well f/1.2 or f/1.4 on Sigma lenses will be a priority.
Lets just hope.

2 years ago |I feel the NEX7 is lacking the touch screen on an otherwise perfectly thought out camera. It would be so useful for Touch to focus. I can’t believe they left it out… Its there in the NEX5N but not in the NEX7! Strange…
Tom
2 years ago |I personally like the fact that there is not a touchscreen. I prefer manual controls and the focus highlighting mode combined with a manual focus, will suite my needs better than a phone style touch to focus mode. Everyone has their own preference of course, but that is mine. In fact, I’d take it one step further and wish the camera did not have a screen at all, would be happy to loose the screen and just use the EVF 100% or bolt on an EVF or tether to a studio monitor for those instances that I needed a screen.
Bill
2 years ago |My ideal camera would be a NEX 6 which has the brain and heart (sensor, touch screen) of the NEX 5N and body of the NEX 7 (Built-in EVF, flash shoe, dials & buttons) at a price between the two, say $899. If Sony could do that, then they will win the world over in a heart beat. I think most of you will agree.
CRYO
2 years ago |5N can touch to choose focus point, touch to choose any point in WB / colour matrix, and touch to zoom any point when manual focus assist
All these operations simply done by a simple touch in 5N, but will need to mess up much slower in 7 with two wheels for your same thumb
Still can’t believe Sony dropped touch screen in 7… GHx / GFx have it, EP3 have it, 5N have it…. so I already take my vote for the 5N.

2 years ago |Hx9v also has no touch screen but still is a great cam. Touch screen definitely is cool but should be able to get by w/o it

2 years ago |Two wishes:
(1) The NEX 7 with 24/1.8 be available now.
and
(2) The price to drop to about £700 for the body and the same for the 24mm … just wishing!

NEXfive
2 years ago |A NEX-7 perfect for me would have a full frame sensor, no built in EVF, the option to attach the 5N one instead and also the touch screen plus geo-tagging. But Tri-Navi and Level Gauge are awesome features and I hopefully there will be more interesting kits with the new lenses next year…

2 years ago |Is it just me or is £300 for the Alpha lens adaptor extortionate?
I’m hoping the release price won’t be so high at launch. Pay £1500 for a Nex 7 and adaptor? Wouldn’t most jump ship and get a 7D (8D?) or D300s (D400s) instead?
I’m worried for Sony in the camera wars. Yes it’s cutting edge tech – but I don’t want to see Sony shoot themselves in the foot by hiking the prices – its not competitive giving the successes of Canon and Nikon! I have the same qualms with the A77.

2 years ago |too expensive Mr.Sony!!!
I have a Nex 5 and love the whole system (have the SEL18200 too and adore it) but this is too much money for a Nex, I know it’s semi pro but still…
C’mon, do the right thing and announce a 20% price drop before release and wipe the floor worldwide with sales regardless of what Nikon and Canon do to try and catch up!

2 years ago |After watching this video about 3 times im sold, will place my order soon via Sonystyle.ca body only and will buy a used SEL1855, i think the black and silver combo just looks more stylish.
I figure going that way will save me about 150$ CAD.
My Nex3 and LA-EA1 adapter will be up for sale soon.
Andrew
2 years ago |I will buy the LA-EA1 adapter from you if the price is right.

2 years ago |Actually, if you get the combo, sell the black kit, you might save even further. The silver kit lens is going for around $170, the limited black can go for $50 more easily.
