9 months ago |These lenses recently got a price hike and Sony’s trying to cope with low demand. Or they’re about to deliver more stock and retailers need to clear their inventory.
I mean, Sigma lenses go on rebate all the time and it’s not like every lens that goes on rebate gets a new version. Besides optical quality doesn’t degrade over time with care, so not taking advantage of a rebate is actually quite silly. I’m getting a 135 ZA in September – it might be nice to have a better barrel and SSM, but I highly doubt that the 135 will be updated.

9 months ago |Absolutely right, Sony thinks we are idiots. They jack up the price much more- then cut the inflated price a little to look like they are doing us a big favor.
BTW, to other posters who say Sony will be updating these lenses. NOT ! Sony has to be dragged out kicking and screaming before they ever update anything. We have old types of coatings, noisy/ancient motor types and Sony could care less. Don’t get Sony confused with the other camera companies. There will be no Nano-coating type updates. No re-formulations. Rejoice with the new Zeiss 50mm we are getting and sit back down.
