New Zeiss 24mm, NEX 18-55mm, Sony 135mm f/2.8 lens reviews! (+Adobe Lens Profile for 16mm f/2.8 NEX)
The swiss website Artaphot.ch (yes it is in english) wrote a very good comparison between the new Zeiss 24mm lens, Zeiss 24-70mm, Zeiss 16-35mm, Minolta 24mm and Miolta 17-35mm lens! The new 24mm Zeiss delivers very sharp images “more than 90% of the full frame are displayed with perfect resolution and nearly perfect contrast.” and “the image quality of the 2/24mm @ f2 is comparable to the image quality of the ZA 2.8/24-70mm @ f 11“. Thanks Artaphot for sharing us that very good review!
David Kilpatrick created a new Adobe Lens Profile for the 16mm f/2.8 NEX lens! It automatically corrects CA (Chromatic Aberration), Vignetting and Distortion. You can download the profile here: http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2010/08/16/adobe-lens-profile-for-16mm-f2-8-nex/. Thanks David!
Kurtmunger tested the 18-55mm E-mount lens: “The NEX e-mount 18-55mm makes a great lens to keep permanently on your NEX camera”
Alpha Numerique (google english translation) tested the Sony 135mm f/2.8 lens.

2 years ago |would be nice if when people put out profiles that they do it for both raw and jpeg as LR3 will not usually apply raw lens profile to a jpeg. ordinarily this is no big deal to me as I am a raw shooter, however with the nex there are some modes that only output to jpeg thus leaving us with having to export the jpeg to dng and reimport into LR3 to apply a lens correction.

he’s responded very quickly
I have made the JPEG profile and amended the post now. It was very quick to produce as the shots were still on the memory card in JPEG form.
David
so both are now up, way cool of him.
