Few hours left to get Luminar 3 for US$49 instead of US$69, and Luminar 3 + Aurora HDR Bundle for US$119 instead of US$168. Another good chance to grab a Lightroom and Photoshop alternative :)
Image on top shows the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM. Tamron will give us an alternative for that one :)
In two days (February 20) Tamron will announced their next new FE autofocus lens: The Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony FE. I have no images yet but this is for sure going to be an exiting and much cheaper alternative of the 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens.
I have no info on the pricing yet but the lens will be quite a bit smaller and lighter than the Sony although the focal range is smaller too. Still this lens is meant to be used for travel and that’s why Tamron did prioritize the size and weight.
This will be Tamron’s second FE zoom after the 28-75mm FE. That lens is selling so well that Tamron did increase the price in January (get it at BHphoto, Amazon, BuyDig, FocusCamera and Adorama. In Europe at Amazon DE and WexUK).

I can now confirm with 99,999% reliability that Sony will announced new products within the next 7-8 days. Journalists have been invited to various locations for a Sony product launch event.
What to expect:
New 135mm f/1.8 GM lens
Hopefully some other new E-mount lens (100mm f/1.4, 500mm f/4.0 and 600mm f/4.0 have been patented by Sony. Also rumored are a possible launch in 2019 of the 35mm f/1.8 G and a new APS-C zoom.
What to NOT expect:
No A7sIII yet
There is a reliable rumor about a new E-mount camera launch within June. But it shouldn’t be announced yet at the WPPI show. My guess is that it will be announced in May-June.

Daniel: “As before i helped smallrig in the co-design of their new l-bracket/half-cage. The last one the smallrig 2122 is used a lot. The new one at current pre-order prices comes with many new features and extra (free) parts to make it a half-cage and is only 5 euro or dollars more called the smallrig 2236.. I did a review (long) and even a update with some extra tips on a pre-production unit. My guess is many of your viewers might want to save some money since the 30% off will be gone once they start shipping 19feb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpaEi2s3P24“
Jon:“Hi, So many say Sony’s codec is bad and they hope the a7s III has 10-bit 4:2:2. I shot with Panasonic for years, and those 10-bit files take up lots of hard drive space. Not only that, but I could never get the colors I wanted. I’m not saying Sony shouldn’t have 10-bit on their next camera, but since I shoot for Web delivery, 8-bit is more than sufficient for my needs. https://youtu.be/XKNuVq2npXs“
