(SR4) Inevitable: New generation A7 cameras has touchscreen…and bugs :)

Share

So far the only new generation E-mount camera with touchscreen is the Sony A6500

A source just sent me this:

New update that I would like to share with you SAR. The new A7 series coming includes touch screen controls. Next A7 is also coming in a few months as its still being optimized by the engineer and software department for issues like bugs, which they ran into recently.

It’s unconfirmed yet when the new A7 generation cameras will be announced. All we know for now is that Sony’s next press announcement is on April 23 and that Sony registered two cameras in Asia (but it may take til May/June before we see those).

85mm f/1.8 FE review by Admiringlight: “the lens exceeded my expectations”

Share

Jordan Steele from Admiringlight tested the new 85mm f/1.8 FE Sony lens ([shopcountry 57214]). The final conclusion is:

Given the very reasonable $598 price tag, the lens exceeded my expectations.  The nearest competitor is the outstanding Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8, which provides similar sharpness and bokeh with slightly lower levels of chromatic aberration, but at double the price. For the vast majority of shooters, the Sony 85mm is going to be the lens of choice between these two.  It’s an outstanding value and an excellent lens. Sony has produced a winner with the 85mm f/1.8, and it has earned a spot in my bag.
