Dear readers!
I am finally back from my one week work trip to NYC. I can finally be fully “operative” on SonyAlphaRumors again. I will also spend a couple of hours to check all the emails I received and try to answer you all. The main thing I will do in these days is to understand how the Thai flood will impact on the financial results, camera availability and on the future camera roadmap. As you know the A99 should have been announced within the next 5-6 months but I guess that it will take a lot of time for Sony to resume the production. Let’s see.

P.S.: There has been one incomplete article that has been scheduled accidentally and have been online for a couple of hours. Sorry, have been flying overseas and had no Internet connection to remove it earlier.

I am still hoping for something like a compact 50-180/F2.8 weather-sealed APS-C for less than 750 euro. but am not expecting any more serious APS-C’s I expect Sony to concentrate on FF and e-mount. which means having just bought a cheep 70-300 Tamron I am likely to buy the Sigma 50-150/2.8 soon and forget Sony lenses Despite being very happy with my 1650.

I think, and hope, Sony will not delay it too long as to take advantage of sales before the olympics.
I’m starting to consider the A99 very seriously now as I am really disappointed with the A77′s image quality. It is an outstanding camera, but spending around 1400$ for compromised image quality, mainly high ISO IQ is very hard for me to accept.
A99 seems like the right answer. Otherwise I may jump ship altogether, but first I need to have more info on the upcoming Nikon 400D or the Canon 7D MK-II or the 5D MK-III.

2 years ago |Hi! Welcome back. News on firmware indeed! Just received the A77 and used it next to my A900 for a wedding yesterday, but the sluggish operation of the A77 is just not acceptable, especially in those conditions.
So Sony, get your act together and get the firmware right! Ow jeah on that note, I experienced quite a bit more flash inconsistency problems with the A77 than with the A900.

2 years ago |I live in Bangkok, from what I have heard the flood will still be with us for weeks to come, it is now creeping into the centre of the city, however the flooding situation outside of Bangkok, to be more precise in the various industrial estates (Sony, Nikon and etc.) have stabilised, will try to get some first hand account and post again later.
