Yeah, IS and Internal Flash are MUST haves for me. If this camera is really going to be "Go Anywhere", I should be able to carry it around as is and take any picture I want while on vacation from day until night.

If this camera can only take pictures during the day and then at night time in a dark restaurant it can't grab the picture, what is the point of getting it?

I've been SOO excited about this camera and check this website every day, but hearing this news about no Flash really disappoints me. Hopefully all the "clues" in the video are true!!!

Hi, Is there any indication that there might be manual control for exposure when shooting video? I.e. like the e-pl1 has. Many thanks, Sam

Yes, look at the video again. There are icons both for flash and SSS (image stablization).

@FE: Well, not everyone thinks the same way you do. There's a reason why Canon's G series have been around a long time, same as with the continued success of the LX3. Not everyone is happy with a fixed-focal length nor are they happy with a protruding lens when a zoom is fitted instead.

The lack of in-body stabilization is a deal-breaker for me. Pity Sony wasn't able to put it in.

no build in IS would be a dealbreaker for me. Sorry Sony, if so, you'd better go back to the drawing table and I wil buy into the 4/3 system. Only Oly seem to understand with their compact 4/3. cheers

Beside these beautiful small cameras, are there any new rumours about the A900 successor, which was rumoured to have 30+mpix and beeing the first real professional DNA Sony DSLR?

Well, think of what kind of people might be interested in these cameras. I think it would probably be either dslr photographers looking for a compact camera with similar image quality and compact camera users that want something a bit more sophisticated, but who don't want to carry around a large camera (Me). So pretty much for similar reasons as people are looking at micro 4/3 cameras.
The first group will want a hot-shoe to use a dedicated flash, because they usually give much better control or range. The second group however will want a build-in flash because they might use it for nearby objects such as people and fill-in flash. Especially when travelling I use flash, just for small things, but it enables me a lot more freedom without extra weight. (by carying a dedicated flash)

Why all this frustration over built-in-flash? Who uses built-in-flash? Could not care less about a built-in-flash. Give us a small real good camera with ultra sharp lenses and super resolution. A low-budget Leica, please ...

I don't know why anyone would buy cameras like the LX3 when they could get something like the NEX3, which is so much nicer with that 16mm, for not much more.

I think the presence of some sort of image stabilisation is sure. Some people are still hoping for a in-body mechanism rather than an in-lens one. I'd be OK with the in-lens option. Will the NEX3 and NEX5 have the same body? Having at least one wheel-type command would be a must for me...
