3 years ago |Overheat ? you loose 3 mn per 10°C over 20°, so at 50°C, it’s à 0mn film with stab on. Don’t bring this baby in the desert of Arizona

3 years ago |are you for real? if you want to shoot video buy a damn camcorder, these are STILL cameras.

3 years ago |Why put video feature to camera at all, if it is unusable?
Only to be able to say it has video, but you can’t shoot with it?
Better leave video feature out completely, if one can not use it properly.
No sense to have DSLR with video when wiseguys say buy camcorder if you want to shoot video.

3 years ago |Remember those who read this that it’s not just Sony. Sony makes a big deal out of it because they’re good at camcorders, and they worry about this.

3 years ago |I live in Alabama, but I’m not going to try to shoot hardly anything in 104 F.
95 F is a different story, which is about 35 C. I’m buying an A55, but if the overheating gets annoying, I may switch to an A33 for longer runtimes. I wish the runtimes were reversed.

3 years ago |Acolyte is right. When sony decided to put video feature in their dslr, I was worried about team killing profits from their huge consider market.in my opinion sony did their best with those translucent cameras.

3 years ago |How could it kill profits from the camcorder division when they can sell DSLR lenses/flashes and make profit on that also? People spend more on DSLRs than camcorders.

3 years ago |Even though it’s all Sony, it’s different developers. Salary bonuses are usually affected by the team o_O hehe
Also people may spend more on DSLRs than camcorders in US, or in general, but Sony has been making a lot of profits in camcorders and digicams compared to DSLRs.
Actually, the DSLR market has been growing fast, but it wasn’t this wide back then. Nowadays, more and more entry level users are comfortable these years (I wanna say thanks to Sony, but I’ll get bashed on if I state that ;p ) Your opinion may be right, but remember these companies are using marketing/development strategies that’s 1,2,3 year old. They’ve started developing, restricting, analyzing, researching, since years before they start the production. Therefore, even if we can open their eyes now, their response would be at best, delayed (e.g. our hope for A7xx -_- )
