Sony A65 sold out at Amazon. Says it will be back on December 31 only!
And now also the A65 is out of Stock in most stores. At least there is an useful news posted by Amazon (Click here). It says that the camera will be back in stock on December 31 only. But this date may be important for the availability of the A77 and NEX-7 too. Let’s take a note of it!
Only a few cameras are still in Stock at Adorama and B&H. Availability is a bit higher in Europe at Amazon.fr, Amazon.de, Sony.it, Jessops, Amazon.co.uk and Warehouseexpress.

So Sony missed the holiday shopping season. Why so much hurry then? Sony, including their Zeiss labeled lenses are known for low QC. How are they going to gain reputation in quality cameras, if they keep on degrading their image?

7 months ago |If you are looking for the G-C77AM Vertical Grip for the A77, interestingly it is coming up as Gold Box deal for ~$15 off at USA Amazon right now, although it is out of stock at the present time. They will write you when it is in stock…. I’m hoping that they will honor the price, seems like they have done that before..honor the price. But I don’t expect the price to drop for years so is this an error? So I ordered one. Took me 3-4 years to see a price drop for used ones for the A700 on e-Bay.

7 months ago |My bet is that 31Dec isn’t a “real” stock date but rather a placeholder being that it is the last day of CY2011.
As for why a65, there are a number of reasons. You pay $500 less and get the same chip and same viewfinder. Assuming you can live without two control wheels (most amateurs can), then the only real downgrade is the AF. So if the 15 pt/3cross is “good enough”, then the money saved is worth it.
