Time to make a new A77 recap!
Buy-n-Shoot (Click here) wrote a short A77 review. It earns the Platinum award…this means it doesn’t get any better! The reviewer says: “No matter which way you look at this camera it takes the cake!”
Our friend Mike Kobal (Click here) is spending his time in the slum of Kibera (Nairobi) and is using the A77 for his work: “My first time in Africa and I am totally blown away by what I have seen so far. I am pleased to let you know, so far, the A77hasn’t let me down in this hot and dusty environment (approx 3K shots). I will try to update this post, however internet access is limited and very slow.”

You will still have a hard time to find the A77 in Stock. I found some at Amazon Germany (Click here), Amazon Japan (Click here) and with January 2 shipment at SonyStore USA (Click here).

2 months ago |I might get the Sigma, provided it’s been tested with the LA-EA2 adapter. Full frame and OSS (whatever Sigma calls it) seals the deal for me. My SEL30M35 will be sold.

2 months ago |You can’t compare a 150mm f2.8 hunk of glass to a 30mm f3.5 lens.
The 150mm lens will really require a tripod or at least a monopod to use. The 30mm f3.5 can be used hand held for a large part.
I can’t even begin to think how unbalanced a Nex 5n with LA-EA2 adapter + 150mm OS lens is going to be !
However the sharpness, working distance and AF speed will be much faster with the Sigma for sure.

2 months ago |That’s okay and to be expected. I’ve used a 90mm macro on the NEX already and it worked very well.

2 months ago |Which macro do you use?
Brendon
2 months ago |Ah, you have some experience in that. My only point was that is good to have both a 150mm type macro lens as well as a short macro for times where a tripod is difficult to use. So I think you should keep your 35mm macro or at the very least get something in the 60 – 100mm range to complement the 150mm

2 months ago |Get something like the Tamron 60mm f2, nice dual purpose lens that is pretty fast (nearly 2 stops faster than SEL30M35) and being Tamron should work fine with LA-EA2.

2 months ago |Mike Kobal is legendary, I love it how he reviews different brands without taking sides. A true professional unlike the other camera hacks out there.

2 months ago |I have to agree. He takes a cardboard box and puts pencil marks on it and then tries to focus on it in low light. Come on, let’s get serious here. The more of this type of moronic stuff that I see being produced on blogs, the more I wonder why I’m not doing reviews.
