A pretty glowing review and some nice examples. thanks for the before/after LR images. It helps give more depth to the article in the actual use of the camera where a lot of time and energy is spent with making an image.

I am curious though, I don’t think you ever mentioned the IBIS as a benefit for the system. Certainly for static subjects a lower shutter speed can be achieved with lenses that there is no VR or IS equivalent in other systems. Street and natural light portraits come to mind as benefiting from this (that and EVF are my main reason of interest over D600 or D800).

Was the picture of the grapes hanging in the vineyard the winner of the landscape shot?

I have mine and it’s superb – got in from cardiff camera center on saturday.. Great place BTW…

From a real world point of view – I think its great. handles well and noise control is superb! I have an a900, a77 and now the a99… good at focusing and the noise control is far far better than anything else I have had. Compair with nikon etc.. don’t know.. But its good and with the zeiss glass .. the camera is really very good.

much more playing to do!

put it this way.. if you have the glass already .. its a no-brainer (well if you have the money!). If you don’t and you want a superb camera – you will not be dissapointed.
