Sony Japan: shipment delays for the NEX fisheye and ultrawide converters

Sony Japan just announced that they will suspend the shipment of the VCL-ECF1 fisheye converter (x0.62 magnification) and delay the releas of the VCL-ECU1 ultra-wide converter (x0.75 magnification). The VCL-ECU1 will be release Spring 2011.

2 years ago |I think you must have those reversed. .62 for the fisheye and .75 for the wide angle converter. That would be more logical.

2 years ago |more important than the mistake, is the question. Why are they suspend?
by now everyone knows the CA is bad with the fisheye converter. And the 16mm lens went thought a last min coating change (bc of CA). so could they be matching the coating to improve IQ?
or is no one buying them, so sony will try to relaunch the products?

2 years ago |I placed an order from sony for the fisheye over 2 months ago and have had no update, nice to find out they theyre delaying it till next damn year by just stumbling upon this rather than then contacting me. very unimpressed
