Sony NEX-7 presentation at BHphotostore
The video on top has been made at BHphoto store in NYC. Enjoy!
P.S.: Sony will soon release a statement about the A77/NEX-7 production status. I guess the chance is low that we will see both cameras in Stock before Christmas. And only a few store accepting NEX-7 preorders. Check this search links: Amazon, Adorama, B&H, J&R, eBay.

6 months ago |One thing I learned from this presentaion was that NEX 7 does not have “Multi frame noise reduction” I use it all the time with my A55. disapointed.

6 months ago |Full-frame NEX? Don’t hold your breath.
matgay
6 months ago |fantastic to hear a sony representative explicitly saying that a full frame nex is NOT out of the question. while the e-mount lenses will need to be larger for full frame, the nex system is easily adaptable to m-mount lenses, which are already all full frame. m-mount lenses meaning leica and zeiss zm and voigtlander lenses, all of which are very compact and superior image quality. But it seems the only thing holding back a full frame nex is the development also of full frame e-mount lenses.
looks like full frame NEX9 is on the way!!! sony listen to the fans!

6 months ago |Nex-9 is on the way?? did you saw the same movie i did? lol
Rodrigo
6 months ago |He said he didn’t tule it out, but it was clear that it’s not on Sony’s plans for the future. He didn’t want to say no simply because it wasn’t impossible, not because it was probable.

6 months ago |this was posted days ago round the forums etc.
it only gives the wrong impression if a site called rumors is posting stuff that the whole world is already aware of…
Brandon
6 months ago |Are you suggesting ‘never’ beats out ‘late’?
Or perhaps you’re suggesting SAR can’t ever be late…better no site at all if it’s not flawless?
Our maybe you just don’t understand that this site does not and should not log exclusively rumors?
Thanks for contributing nothing…not even coherency in your dismissive remark.

6 months ago |Melotron. Understand that everyone has a different idea about what should get posted on SAR and when it should be posted. SO it’s impossible to satisfy everyone. I posted the NEX-7 video today because we had quite busy days with the fullframe cameras and lens rumors and poll. And I am sure not all of our readers saw the video before! So please try to see the SAR website as a whole, it’s easy to criticize if you start from your own small world.

6 months ago |You could call the site “Rumors and News”. Anyway, the content is fine in my opinion.

6 months ago |I don’t check the forums, I check here everyday. Thanks for posting that video. It was interesting and informative and I just learned an awesome new trick to hold my NEX vertically when I do panorama shots to get more vertical image in the frame! Useful for parties and large group shots. Awesome! Thanks again!

6 months ago |Probably a mistake, but I noticed at 1:01:30 that the slide says A77, 18-250 Zeiss.
Bill
6 months ago |Good catch it does say the 18-250 Zeiss. Could be shooting with preproduction lenses, or could be an error by the person making up the slides.

6 months ago |Whoa one hour plus. I’ll save it for later.
Bugger
6 months ago |What. Just because this is a ‘Rumor’ Site, it can’t post useful information that’s already known?

6 months ago |To Admin:
How about the chance of seeing NEX-7 in stock before January…say 14?
admin
6 months ago |Hard to say. I need to collect new info from my sources. The last enws I have is from 3 weeks ago and said that the NEX-7 would arrive in late February only.

6 months ago |The most interesting part in the video is when he confirmed 6! new NEX lenses in 2012…

6 months ago |He says at 37:00 that the camera is locked at 30 minutes video recording because they don’t want to make one cameras for Europe and one the rest of the world. So why are the USA 24/30/60 fps and European 24/25/50?. Make it GLOBAL. Give me 24/25/30/50/60 and stop lying.
Adi
6 months ago |One reviewer who played with a preproduction NEX7 said that it can do this: Select NTSC mode you get 24/60.Select PAL mode you get 25/50.
matgay
6 months ago |if it only limited by taxation laws, then should be hackable to unlock 30min?
Adi
6 months ago |Nobody hacked until now any Sony camera firmware, so don’t hold your breath.

6 months ago |Nice video. A lot of interesting points mentioned during the presentation, although some of them are not right (for example, the part where he said the shutter response lag is 2ms when on the slide, it was written quite big that it is 20ms). But overall, a very interesting video. Good to know Sony ain’t snobbish and acknowledged they used the Pellicle mirror concept from Canon for the SLT and the m4/3 concept for the Nex. Oh wait… the proper word was…. “inspired”. lol…
matgay
6 months ago |ok i dont get how he said sweep panorama works BETTER handheld and wont work right on a tripod??? tripod will be stable so should give clearer pictures when stitched together. handheld especially without the viewfinder attachment is extremely shaky/jittery. at the very least is should be on a monopod!
Phil
3 months ago |Well, I come from a Canon DSLR (40D) and the NEX could probably be my future camera.
I wish the NEX-7 (or future version of it) will includes:
- GPS for geotag
- Wifi/BT for tethering on a computer and an iPad
- Touchscreen for touch for focus tracking, etc…
- RAW file for Pano, HDR and Compositions Mode
If they do this kind model (even a little bit more expensive for the touchscreen and stuff), it would still be a perfect camera to me
Maybe on a NEX-7N or so?
