8 months ago |lol, the video from Nordicdigital isn’t in Swedish
Michele
8 months ago |Exactly: Finnish!
GunnarK
8 months ago |Yes, I was just going to notify Andrea about that. The language in this youtube clip is Finnish, meaning we Swedish spoken people do not understand one bit. If it had been i Norwegian, basically all Swedish native speakers would have understood, if it had been in Danish, many would too, with some additional effort. Even if it would have been written i German (but that would require some aquintance with that language).
The Finnish Language belongs to a completely different family if languages, so there is basically nothing to be recognized for a Scandinavian (or a German) speaker. Untill learning Finnish, of course!

8 months ago |I dun understand (not to complain, just curious) :
1. why only 6fps
2. why buffer seems like as small as A77
3. why the 19 focus sensors are cramp in the middle
4. why not all 19 focus sensors are not cross type.

8 months ago |I’m dissapointed by no.3 too. I guess PDAF module will be used by APS-C models thus in FF model it covers only central part ot the view. It is shame their FF flag ship model again can not AF on subject’s head in protrait orientation without lock and recompose technique.
No.4 is because PDAF module gets only 1/3 of the light. Each AF point has its own lens to improve sensitivity. In order to compensate for less light the lens is big. There is not enough room for all AF points to be cross on the AF sensor. I hope on sensor assist points eliminate this issue.
Yong
8 months ago |i think if 6fps but big buffer making it unlimited shots for jpeg…. i would be very happy… ha.
Maximus
8 months ago |you have no idea how a af-sensor is working.
1/3 light is not less than traditional DSLR-AF-sensors get and has nothiing to do with the possibility of hving cross type sensors
z
8 months ago |Yea, normal SLR deflect most of the light upwards to the viewfinder and a tiny bit downwards to the PDAF sensor.

8 months ago |I was really disappointed that almost none of those new lenses could be seen on the Photokina.
I visited the booth of Schneider (the woman I talked to didn´t even know that an E-mount exists).
I visited Zeiss (they only showed the housing of their new E-mount prototypes in a vitrine). And finally I visited Sony where I could lay hands on the new Power Zoom. Ironically, the other 2 lenses (10-18 and 35) were also locked up in a glass vitrine and the Sony guy told me that they were not allowed to open the vitrine…)
At least I spent nearly an hour with the NEX-6 and had a Sony guy answering all my questions…which made my day!

8 months ago |Was at Photokina yesterday playing a long time with NEX6 with a Sony rep. I’ve to say the firmware is still per-production & buggy. The AEL button didn’t work & to use it you gotta hold done the button. The Fn button tha allows you to quickly navigates via a comprehensive function layout didnt work either. The remote shot was pretty awesome but effective range is easily disrupt by the micro wave in the air. His android phone was next to the cam but the image refresh rate was poor & jitter. The handling was just as good as any NEX. The PDAF control at low light was great. However on power zoom, it was a disappointment. It wasn’t as smooth as I thought & hope the production firmware will fix most of the problem. The potential is great.
The one camera that kept me strayed off NEX6 was the Fuji X100. It is a surprisingly nice camera to use. The OVF/EVF is superb. Simple & elegant! Samsung NX was also great not to mentioned the extremely friendly, knowledgeable & amazingly attractive German fraulin rep that was eager to answer all your queries. She would’ve sold me a NX easily. ahem… I meant the nice features of the camera. Both Fuji & Samsung CSC operates better & smoother than NEX 6 but I’m sure Sony is working on the final firmware.

8 months ago |I am also a bit disappointed in the selectable focus options, but for most of my shooting it will be fine. But that is no excuse for Sony not to provide more selectable focus versatility in an otherwise fine looking camera. It does not seem that Sony is ready to hand this camera out for previews as I cannot find many actual previews/reviews of the images that this camera takes. Another thing I may be naive about is why camera companies do not help programmers with raw file information so when a camera is released the likes of Aperture, Lightroom, etc can support their raw files immediately.

8 months ago |The lady in the Which Nex 6 Video says that the touchscreen is not touch sensitive, is that true?
Derek
8 months ago |You mean the screen is not touch sensitive, and yes that is true. The NEX6 is not a touchscreen camera.

8 months ago |So, what’s next from Sony after Photokina? Actual and proper reviews for a99? What can we look forward to in 2013? A D4/1DX equivalent from Sony?
Yong
8 months ago |Ya… One that has vertical grip built in, high mega pixel.
Stephen Linhart
8 months ago |A99 does do faster shooting in crop mode. It is as fast as the NEX 5R if the crop is the size of the NEX 5R.
How does one distinguish which Sony lenses are weather sealed to go with the A99?
Yong
8 months ago |Cropped mode only… Very sad.

8 months ago |There will be a press event soon in which myself and a few others will be the first to use the A99 and NEX6 with final production firmware. All of the popular players will be there, so we’ll all come out with news shortly thereafter.

8 months ago |I was wondering when we would start hearing some definitive feedback on the 99. I will be looking forward to what you think about the camera as you put it through its paces, especially the speed and accuracy of the focusing system in various lighting conditions, the image quality and its low light performance. Even though the fps was a bit limited and shy of most people’s expectations, can we expect to actually get 6 fps full resolution and will it be longer than 1 second. Is 10 fps in crop mode actually true. It will also be nice to hear how effective the 99′s metering capabilities are. I hope they hand you the camera very soon.
