Gustav's predictions over the last several months include:

--that there will be an APSc A700 replacement, perhaps two cameras. His predictions have consistently held that Sony reps say that the A750 will be a great camera, one that the entire camera world will be talking about, one that will be well worth the wait.

--at first he believed that the A750 would appear in January or March, then revised that to March or April, at the same time that Sony reps clammed up in talking to him about just what the camera would be. Then recently he revised his prediction of date again, to "after April," since that appears to be precisely what Sony reps told him.

--he recently also predicted that an A450, or rather a camera "between the A380 and the A450," would be released at CES, and that it will be similar to the A500 but without some bells & whistles. I think he specifically mentioned LV.

--he has also consistenly held that Sony will introduce video into its dslrs by the end of the year. At first it seemed that Sony was telling him about nothing more than the EVIL camera that Thom Hogan said he expects from Sony in September. But most recently he has been speculating that the ongoing delay in the introduction of the A750 might well be related to trying to work out video issues for that camera. Previously he had thought that there would be no video in the A750.

--he also most recently has predicted that 2010 will be a big year for Sony lenses.

Beyond that my speculations have been based on the thoughts of other informed resources, some perhaps with inside information, and logic. It is not my habit to get into the predictions game, whether publicly or privately, but I got tired of the very public and corrosive comments I hear from a good number of Sony bashers, who see virtually everything Sony does, even the A900, as evidence of abandonment of "real" photography. What would they have thought of Minolta in its day? Or even of Leica in the 20s?

Hm... it's not the first time I hear about Sony mirrorless camera to be released on september, so it might be it.
I also wonder what A450 will be - there's not much place between the A380 and A500 in matter of price, so.... it'd be IHMO a bit weird move.... but well, we'll see.
The A9xx and A7xx looks fascinating... can't wait for it :)

I want quickly to absolve Gustav from responsibility for making those predictions. They are mine, and I thought I had made both my authorship & the highly specualtive nature of my speculations clear, but I guess I didn't, Gustav's comments are highly reliable, as he has fairly regular direct contacts with Sony reps. I have consistently tried to base my own thoughts about the Sony roadmap on Gustav's predictions, but in this case I have gone well beyond what I have heard from him. He says nothing about an A650, for example
