(SR3) Sony A450 and Sony A800 to be unveiled in January?
Photorumors received a rumor saying that “Sony will introduce two DSLR models at the CES show in Las Vegas between January 7th and 1oth, 2010: Alpha 450 and a successor to the Alpha 700 (not clear what will be the exact model number). The Alpha 450 will not have video capabilities (the a700 replacement is also not expected to have built-in video).“

4 years ago |AFAIK there will NOT be A700 replacement in foreseeable future. Quite few rumors on this.
Next release in higher end Sony cameras is going to be compact camera like E-P1 in March 2010. Not more cameras before that .

4 years ago |Once again, Sony is making another DSLR that no one wants.
Hey Sony – We want DSLRs with good low ISO performance, HD Video, live view, effective auto focus system, interchangeable lenses and accessories at a reasonable price and for goodness sick – please, provide better support services (more firmware & software updates).
After 2 years, I am still waiting for Sony firmware updates for my A200, until Sony shows some signs of improving their products and support service, I’ll keep on buying other brands like Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Fuji (even Fuji provide better service than Sony).

I bought Sony just because they have Zeiss optics, but expected me to even camera houses would be in the same class of lenses! I have also “professional” model a900 because I thought that Sony would update this model and get rid of “child illnesses,” but no! Since the launch of the A900, Sony has chosen to ignore the noise problems? This makes us professionals to quickly leave the label and return to those who really listens to its customers: the Nikon and Canon. I think it’s flippant and arrogant by Sony to just launch a bunch of “new models” that are not better than competitors in groups, but only more expensive, and then put it bluntly, shit in the people who bought the product!
View now to fix noise problems with a firmware or else, in any case I will return to some of those who listen to their customers!
SHAME Sony, you should know that “customer is always right” and that a brand is very easy to destroy but incredibly difficult to rebuild!
So another thing: WHY is your lenses so much more expensive than your competitors in when you do not have image stabilization or weather-resistant ?????????
Then I finish with: Without Zeiss, so far, so you would not be something to have at all.
Now listen to your customers, you must be quick with updates and lower prices if you do not have the same quality as your competitors. And above all it is taken how many lenses at any time in your arsenal! It should not have to take several years to launch any telephoto lens! It is frankly too bad!

4 years ago |Money – I had pleasure to use A450 for one and a half day – it’s great, really great upgrade for A200 (my current camera), the AF is waaaay better, especially in low lighting, where there’s no chance to get focus with A200, as well as it’s sightly faster. Low ISO performance is great – the A550 sensor does the job well, and it keeps the noise level to something equal for Canon/Nikon cameras. No LV might be annoying when working on tripod in winter (no idea why but in summer I don’t really bother), but in every-day photography there’s no difference.
Only thing that annoyed me much was the eye-start sensor placed above the viewfinder – the viewfinder is bit lower because of this and some light from sides may cause reflections, but it happen for me only once so I guess you can live with that.
