Very well stated ‘PhotoNut’, and the lenses you mentioned are pretty much what I would like to see from Zeiss! The only lens I’m aware of that Zeiss will release fairly soon is the ZA 50/1,4 Planar. I already have the 135/1,8 and it’s worth the money I spent, or at least that’s what I’m sticking to.

Because “standing out” is often prohibitive in serious photography. You must not drive the attention to yourself, if you want to photograph wildlife or people candids. “Standing out” is for fan-boys, not for photographers.

White stays cools just as well as silver, and temperature isn’t much of a problem with most lenses, anyway. Have a look at, for example, Nikon’s professional tele-photo lenses: Black.

Black is much easier to clean than silver.
