(SR5) April NEX rumor confirmed!
Short update: New and old trusted sources confirmed the new NEX-C3 will be announced in April. It will feature the same Sony NEX-5 sensor but have an “imporved” body. Sounds like the NEX-3 will be definitely replaced. A NEX-5 successor should be announced a few months later.
I ask my sources to send me rumors about the upcoming lenses that could be announced in April (Thanks!). I guess this is what most of us NEX owners are waiting for…new lenses!
There are a few price drops on the NEX-3 (probably because of the upcoming C3): Amazon.cn, Digitalrev, eBay.

2 years ago |I don’t know about you guys, but I have a NEX3, and a Zuiko 50/1.4 with adapter and I’m pretty damn happy about it. Especially after they’ve released the update. I love the usability and grip, and I’m a power user with big hands.

In Slovenia (part of EU) the NEX3 kit with 16mm is just 299 EUR!
It’s so cheap that I am now actually considering purchasing it for my boatload of m42′s that I don’t use much on the A-mount bodies.

2 years ago |They really should just replace the NEX 3/5 with one model unless they plan on putting a bit of a gap between them with these new models. Even most review sites just combined the two because there was no point in doing separate reviews for each.

2 years ago |I find the NEX3 grip to be quite nice. The NEX5 grip is too small, and interferes with MF with legacy lenses.

2 years ago |Remember that patent for the fold out hand grip when needed? Now I’m expecting a super thin NEX body when stored. When in use, the grip would expand to the size of the trusty old A700. Awesome!

2nd battery
Weatherproofing
Function dials
A mount lens adaptor with fast focus and image stabilization
…..All in the shape & size of a standard SLR camera.
Just imagine a nex inside a waterproof case.
If somebody could produce this, it would kill the SLR market overnight.
There’s not much to improve on the nex cameras themselves. button placement, perhaps, but really they just need more native lenses.
