I wonder if Zeiss gonna port it’s 100mm f/2 to the A mount – it’s a great lens, with AF added it’d become unmatched in it’s category.
24mm f/2 is a great thing, something we were missing in the A mount. I’m very glad the “holes” are filled one by one

I’m curious how it will be compared to 24-70mm in terms or performance. For example my 24-70mm zoom performs similarly to 50mm 1.4 and better than 35mm 1.4 starting at f4. I suppose the advantages of 24mm f2 will be slightly better resolution between 2-4f, no distortion and less in size.

Therefore only prime what I’m seriously considering is 135mm Zeiss with unmatched performance till now.

Agree with Guido – Kevin is wrong, Zeiss made the right choice to go with F2.0 vs F1.4

It is good Zeiss didn’t listen to fags like Kevin.

It’s almost a disappointment to realize now that we probably won’t see anything faster than this at this focal length. I’m sure this lens will be sharp enough from wide open, like most of the Zeiss lenses, but f/1.4 would have been nice, too.

@Chris: looking at the price of the Nikon 24mm f/1.4, this Zeiss lens isn’t gonna be anywhere near €500,-. I’m very interested to hear what it’ll cost though. Pretty sure it’s over €1.000,-.

This is the 3rd lens for this year! Two e mount lenses came in may

I hope more primes make it to e mount or af with ssm

This could be a very interesting lens. I love the perspective from a 35mm lens on a fullframe camera. And there are not really good 24mm lenses for apc sensors, only the very expensive Nikon and Canon f1.4 or a relatively slow f4-f5.6 kit lens.

If this 24mm f2 lens will be available for under 500€ (around 300€ would be nice)
