(SR5) Hot! Sony new products on US Today!!! With official price of A77!
Click on the image to view it fullsize! Thanks Jose for sending us this!!!
UPDATE: Only 40 minutes to the announcement (6am London time). There is a huge ammount of visitors online now, that’s why website loading time is slow. I retsarted the sevrer, reduced the number of posts t…one! And removed some widgets. If that doens’t help and the server crashes than you can follow the announcement on our SonyAlphaRumors Fanpage on Facebook (Click here)!
US today says the A77 body only costs $1399 and with 16-50mm lens it will cost $1999. The A65 will cost $899. The NEX-7 with kit lens costs $1350. NEX-5N with lens for $700. The VG-20 for $2199.
The A77 has a higher price than expected. I guess the strong YEN is making lower prices almost impossible. Anyway, could be that street price is a bit lower and closer to our rumored price!

2 years ago |You guys keep talking about the street price. Sony keeps a strict leash on its product disbursement. There will not be a ‘street price’ (in my experience). When these cameras are released the price will be the same from every retailer in the States. Mitsubishi used to play this same game- any store that tried to sell under the official price suddenly couldn’t get stock. They did that right until the Feds sued the hell out of ‘em for this practice.
Please, someone out there tell me I’m wrong. I want to be wrong, because these prices stated in the USA Today article are ridiculous. Even a 15% lower street price would provide some salve.

2 years ago |Those that think Sony should sell the A77 at 1k, seriously get real. Do you expect Canon/Nikon to sell their 7D/D300S at 1k also? If you want a 60D/D7000 level body, get the A65.
If you want to switch, go ahead, you won’t be missed.

2 years ago |Many photographers like me paid over $2,600 for a camera that doesn’t have the image quality that this new Sony camera will produce, Canon sells the hell out of its Canon 5D at $2,600 and the Nikon D3’s cost between $5,000 to $7,000 USD and this camera just might produce better images………….
And by the way, plan on spending more than a thousand dollars for a lens equal to the capability of the sensor on this camera.

2 years ago |A77 IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL< STOP SCREAMING AROUND THAT ITS TOO EXPENSIVE. sheesh! anyway, there is a A65 if your pocket doesnt allows u for it. 7DII will price higher then A77 anyway. go and emo in the corner.
1400 just an RRP, in 2 month time, online store will drop its pricing to street level (after the street got most of their stocks, if ever) you did not wait for nothing, u just need to wait a little longer.

2 years ago |The article says 16-50mm 1.8, is that true?
tom
2 years ago |Yes probably right on the price but it is a 2.8 I think.
It is a large aperture wide angle SSM G zoom and that is a costly lens – but should be well worth it.
Remember the CZ16-80 3.5 – 4.5 zoom is $700 and that is not a large aperture lens and no SSM.
Should be a very good lens and 2.8 is a large aperture for a zoom like this.

2 years ago |blame SAR
they gave us candy telling us its 1k range
kidding. i mean, when many ppl hear its 1k range, most my friend came and argue with me how cheap it is, i told them back, base on market, it will never be at 1k! but if the sales are bad, the price will drop (like canon 7D) eventually. just give a little time, and u can enjoy the spoils.

2 years ago |FYI, after news spread to forum in Asia,if this price is true worry not for Sony, many people here in SEA are worrying supply of bodies and grips won’t be enough for us to get them within this year. -__-”

2 years ago |To put it in perspective I believe the A100 was 1299 and the A700 1399 US$ so 1399 for this camera not to shabby.

2 years ago |If the RRP for the A77 is $1400, that’s what we can expect to pay whether it be now or six months from now. Look at the A580 prices. They haven’t budged a bit: http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/sony-alpha-dslr-a580/4505-6501_7-34215377.html

2 years ago |Some second thoughts: Also figure in the cost of memory and the RAW files should be in the 40MB range so a new external hard drive is a real possibility too. Yup, the ole wallet is gonna get a real pounding.

2 years ago |There is at least one bright note, the A77 uses the same battery as the A700.
Sony Style USA says they expect to ship on 19-Oct or thereabouts.

2 years ago |The price of A77 convince me to wait for FF release next year before taking the plunge in dSLT world. At this price I can only afford 1 new dSLT and rather save my money to buy the lower end FF dSLT next year.
Off topic: I am shopping to find a high pressure test pump that is made in Japan recently and quite shock to hear that the price has increase 50%. Hope the Yen is going down again in the near future.
