(SR5) HUGE rumor correction!!! A35 and NEX-C3 announcement on June 8th. Not on June 3rd!
Sorry guys! The A35 and NEX-C3 will be announced next week on Wednesday June 8th!!!
UPDATE: It sounds like there was a miscommunication between dealers and Sony. I have been told that one huge Sony dealer in UK had already NEX-C3 advertising displayed inside the store. He had to remove them 
Really sorry for that, but I don’t know yet why that miscommunication happened. My two cent guess on that is that after the April delays caused by the Tsunami desaster the announcement roadmap had been quickly rescheduled and that might caused a comunication mistake. During the last couple of hours many sources contact me to tell me that June 8th is the definitive announcement date. So don’t worry, the new stuff is coming for real!

And happy to wait a year or so for my a850 replacement
If the A77 is as good I you guys think it will be, I’ll buy one as a backup and for high ISO shots.
But you all know that the A77 will not ship till the fall or maybe later right!

12 months ago |Okay, so on these two new models, there are a few somewhat significant omissions/missing features compared to their 5-series counterparts. For example, the lack of 1080p recording on the NEX-3C versus NEX-5, the apparent lack of regular 7-fps burst mode (only in available now in telephoto crop mode?) and lack of pivot screen on the a35 versus the a55.
Does this mean that Sony still plans to release updated versions of the 5-series camera or do they want people to jump straight to the a77 and NEX-7 cameras for those features? I don’t expect anyone to have the answer, just speculating…

12 months ago |As a lifelong Minolta/Sony A-mount shooter all the way back to SR-1 as a kid, I had always hoped Sony was watching this website, and doing so even if it was for the raw enjoyment of listening to a group of users.
All of us that post/watch the site, AND all of the other Camera sites that pull info from this site have been posting this announcement date for a long time now, right?
And now we hear that the major distributers also knew that this date was wrong.
So, maybe Sony is not looking and listening or maybe Sony has been and is just playing with us and having a good laugh.

No. Exmor-R (= backlit) technology is for the minuscule sensors of compact cameras. The NEX-C3 (not 3C) sensor is an Exmor HD like the NEX-3 sensor but it has 16 Mpixels instead of 14. It’s the sensor you already find in Alpha 55 and 580, Nikon D7000 and Pentax K-5.

Assuming that the 8th is now correct, getting the rumour to within a week of the date is pretty good going IMO. Manufacturers do give out information that changes at the last moment.
The fact that this site enables people to wait for new models rather than commit money to current models, should be enough.
Feel free to start your site if you think that you can get better information from Sony.
