(SR5) There will be no more APS-C SLT cameras (after the A77II) anymore.

This is probably one of the biggest rumors I ever posted. And before you read it keep in mind that this is a rumor and not an official news. Rumors are not based on official facts but on anonymous and unproven…well rumors :)

The APS-C A-mount revolution: According to multiple trusted sources there will be no more APS-C SLT cameras from Sony. And now listen: There will be new A-mount cameras! What changes is the tech. SLT is done and death for APS-C. This means the recently announced SLT-A58 is the last of it’s kind. No A77 and no A65 successor will have the semi transparent mirror. So what is going to happen? The options are two. Optical Viewfinder will come back (highly unlikely) or A-mount ASP-C goes mirrorless (likely).

UPDATE: There will be one last A77II SLT. After that APS-C will be mirrorless A-mount!

I am still not sure if there will be SLT-FF, but I have been told that SLT is going to to disappear sooner or later anyway. I know the news is big and I have the feeling this will not be the only big news we will here in future :)

P.S.: As I told you before Sony is working on a brand new roadmap that includes many new advanced features. 2014 is going to be a very intriguing year!

UPDATE: I insist telling you that the A-mount system will remain well alive. What changes is just that they will not use the SLT tech anymore. Please don’t spread false rumors about a possible death of the A-mount. Just be patient and wait for the new amazing stuff that will come in 2014 ;)
