Stay tuned for new Sony A9 rumors!

Share

It has been a nice time on SAR lately and we published many correct rumors and leaks. What you saw first on SAR where the leaked  A6500 and RX100m5 images, the first A6500 info, the first Loxia specs, the first leaked image of the 18-110mm lens, the first Zeiss Milvus images (with Ale from MR), the first Profoto-Sony rumor, the first leaked images of the Tamron 150-600mm A-mount lens, the first rumor of a redesigned menu, the A99II development info and the full A99II specs.

To get all that info requires a lot of work and a lot of trust between the sources and me. And So let me say thank you to all of them!

Sony A9:
The big rumor I am working now is on the A9. The A9 name itself is just a tentative name. It could also get another name when announced. But the point here is that the camera is placed above the A7 lineup. SAR was the first to report about that camera back in April before the Kumamoto earthquake. From what I heard the camera will now be announced in early 2017 instead of late 2016 due the sensor production shortage. I also want to stress that trusted sources also shared few early info:

  • Placed above the A7 series
  • dual XQD card slot,
  • unlimited RAW burst (camera wont pause for buffering)
  • Bigger body than the A7 series

I am now working to get some more of info. While you are waiting for me to post that info feel free to join the the A9 Facebook group to be able to chat in detail on the future A9 info. Also don’t forget to subscribe our RSS feed, Facebook page and Twitter stream.

A bit of clarity on rumors work:

1) Low ranked rumors: Please don’t take me accountable on those. Low ranked rumors are from completely unknown sources. But like I told you a couple of times I prefer to post some of those low ranked rumors and be wrong on them…than not post them at all and miss some of the correct ones! Just recently I published such a rumor (the A6500 rumor here) and it turned out to be spot on. Keep in mind that most of the good sources are completely anonymous. That’s also a reason why I will keep posting low ranked rumors. Trusted sources reading this can help me out by using a Pseudonym so that I can rank their rumor higher the next time :)

2) High Ranked rumors: Take them a bit more “seriously” but still be aware that even good and trusted sources sometimes can be wrong on rumors. This has many reasons: They misinterpret the info they get, or they get wrong info, or Sony simply changes the plan. An example of Sony plan change is the A6300 launch which was supposed to happen in June 2015 (confirmed by the Sony Wikileaks documents) and got postponed til February 2016. Same story for the A99II launch which I reported wrongly two times.

A bit of clarity on personal stuff:

I do work alone on SAR. This means quality of rumors and news goes up and down depending on the time I can spend on SAR, depending on vacation, depending on my work trip (I do work as a photographer). So don’t be too mad with me if I make more grammatical errors than usual, if I miss to report a news or rumor in time and so on.

How to help me (and a few rules):

1) Please don’t troll here and on other sites. You could take aways some of the workload and stress by simply pay attention of how you write comments on SAR. Don’t get personal, don’t insult, don’t attack other sites even if they keep attacking me and SAR. Let’s be decent and respectful. This is a rumor site and by that I mean we are here for fun and entertainment. There shouldn’t be a reason to get angry to each other.

2) Correct me on mistakes: If I do mistakes please kindly contact me at sonyalpharumors@gmail.com. And please when criticizing me start with the assumption that if I do mistakes I am not doing them intentionally or with some hidden “dark” reason. I do write 1150 articles per year on average. Things like wrong linking, wrong crediting (or missing crediting), incorrect grammatic can happen!

3) Retweet and share: We almost get no retweets or sharing from companies and other websites. This has obvisous reason. No blogger is going ot jeopardize the collaboration with camera manufacturers by linking to us :) If you find a news on SAR worth to be read by others share it throught your network. Thanks!

4) Don’t blatantly copy my posts without credit. Don’t worry mistakes can happen and I am not going mad if you copy my news and forget to link back. But there are a couple of sites who blatantly keep copying my work CONSTANTLY. I really would appreciate those sites to link back to SAR if they keep to “use my site” . Just to award me a bit for the work I do. Thanks!

Ok now time for me to stop talking and get back to work. Have a nice day you all!

Andrea

P:s.: Short message to Sony:
