5 months ago |Nice work! I bought the f2.8/28 and the f1.7/50 Minolta Rokkors on eBay for my A99. Can’t wait to play with them! Got the infinite focus adapter as well. It has an extra element in it. $45. Cool to see what happens with the legacy glass. I like the effects.

5 months ago |Probably the adapter’s extra element gonna ruin the IQ, hahaha. An A99 user should know that.

I’m surprised that you’re not covering CES and that you really don’t have any more decent SONY Alpha rumors.

5 months ago |The problem is that the quality of those video recordings is low: white balance is incorrect, color is unnatural and desaturated, contrast is poor, focus is imprecise etc. It takes a lot of effort to set the WB alone on NEX with legacy Minolta MD lenses just to get a barely decent shots and the author didn’t do it. 135mm lens on NEX makes a set that is not balanced and even on a tripod it is difficult to maintain the focus (a tripod collar for the lens would be needed) – all that shows in those recordings
Rob
5 months ago |It takes a lot of effort to set white balance? such as having a white card with you and snapping one pic on the custom WB setting?
WLPL
5 months ago |Unfortunately it is not so easy with legacy lenses (rather poor “color transmission” with digital sensors) and “tricky” light conditions. Custom white balance gives unsatisfactory results.
WLPL
5 months ago |Be prepared to go thorugh custom-custom procedure with manually adjusting WB offset to get a realistic rendering of grass color etc. Granted – NEXes have the required menu options but it takes time and some skill to get it right especially with older Minolta MD lenses.
