Today a short break, but fullframe rumors coming next week!
Today I have to climb a high mountain on the dolomites. Weather is wonderful and I am ready to enjoy that day. But as soon as I am back I will work on the Sony fullframe camera rumors I received today. It seems that Photographers are already testing various prototypes. Damn would I love to see them…I could help Sony to chose which one should go in mass production!
Anyway, wish you a nice Sunday with your friends and/or families. See you soon!
P.S.: I am going here: http://maps.google.it/maps

2 years ago |If they are already testing various bodies, am I correct in saying the next FF camera will be available early 2012 and not later in the year?

2 years ago |I am hoping it is ready to launch at CES (at least the cheaper version).

2 years ago |I imagine complicated high end cameras take months to debug given all the features and UI design involved in them. If they didn’t already have working prototypes, I’d say we’d be looking at 2013.
The A77 hardware has been complete for months now, as far as I can tell, and we still haven’t even got an announcement yet. That’s just the way camera design is.

2 years ago |The A900/A850 fullframe cameras were pretty much just a scale up of the APS-C A700. Not much difference in the camera UI, controls, metering or AF systems.
Carl
2 years ago |The A900 is a development of the unreleased Konica Minolta 9D.
I’d love to know which landfill KM buried all their 9D prototypes in.

2 years ago |I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I love you.
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

2 years ago |Just came back! Didn’t find any secret Sony prototype. On the first part of the trip I meet, two guys with Nikon cameras and one with a Samsung NX10. That’s it

2 years ago |a 33% chance to see a CSC? thats a very good statistics

2 years ago |Well, I came back from my mountain trip today as well – Slovak and Polish mountains, and all I have seen were Canon SLRs, numerous Sony (a55s, and some older + single Nex with zoom kit), only 3 Nikon (two pro bodies with Sigma lenses includin 85mm prime and one entry level with kit) and 1 olympus, no pentax at all.
Quite odd statistic considering huge difference between Nikon and Canon/Sony – I thought in here Nikon was more popular than Canon or Sony, and yet… seems I was wrong.

2 years ago |I want a FF camera in a small, light body like the A100. Don’t care for a A900-like brick. The full-frame cameras back in the day used to be so small and light… what happened!?
Don Cox
2 years ago |Yes, it’s hard to see why a full frame DSLR should be bigger than an OM1. And an APS-C reflex should be like a Pen-F.
But my ideal camera would be a full frame NEX.

2 years ago |Film-based cameras took care only about optics (and a few electronic for later generations).. there were no such kinda ISO selection, builtin pic effects, anti-shock, image engines, etc in the past.. DSLR/DSLT needs both rely on both optics and electronics heavily..

2 years ago |Take a look at olympus XA, thats a full frame camera (its smaller then NEX)
its true that the good days are gone…
Philip Warrender
2 years ago |“smaller than NEX”
And still had a built in viewfinder with rangefinder.
Love that little camera; haven’t used mine in over a decade. Need to dig it out and use it.

Have a safe holiday. When you get back, please fix X-Rumors, Samsung is supposed to be making some announcements soon.
Thanks!

2 years ago |I can’t wait for the next Alpha FF camera. It’s been too long since the A850/A900. Sony needs to pay more attention to the pro side of its business. Prosumer APS-C DSLR bodies and mirrorless compact cameras are a dime a dozen, but the A850 & A900 were revolutionary cameras at their price points. I’m expecting great things from the next generation of FF Alphas.
