2 years ago |Wow, so many reviews for the NEX cameras.
Looks like anyone who is anyone has reviewed them.
My 18-55 E mount showed up today, Silver NEX-5 with 16mm will be here Friday.
Will be great not having to lug around a DSLR and not having to settle for sorry performance like on a Ricoh.

Dpreview has given the NEX 3 and 5 unfair scores. It may have some minor flaws but comparing the image quality with other cameras, is better than both the almighty Nikon D300s or the Canon 7D.

Put the blame on the lenses. For instance have a look at pictures taken with a NEX-5 and a Leica Super-Elmar-M 18 mm f/3,8 Asph with an Akira Seiki Leica M –> Sony E adapter:

Or at pictures taken with a NEX-5 and a Carl Zeiss C Biogon 35 f/2,8 ZM with the same adapter:

not even the x1 is sharp throughout and without chromatic aberration, and it costs $2000
