Two new videos of the Contax to NEX adapter from Techart.
As you know MXcamera will sell the new Contax G to Sony E-mount adapter starting from February. The “special” feature is that it supports full auto aperture and auto focus control. Only the 16mm and 21mm Contax G lenses will not be compatible on a NEX camera. Anyway, the news today is that there are two more videos published by the store selling those adapters, MXcamera. One video you can watch on top and the second video can be found here on youtube. Yep, looks like the af works

5 months ago |This adaptor is an incredible achievement. I’ve got a G 90mm which I don’t use much because I find the manual adaptor a bit clunky. NEX is far and away the most exciting camera system available!

5 months ago |I have the 90 as well, but I sent the adapter back after 1 day of failing with it and the lens has just been sitting here. I figured that it would probably work on a FF NEX some day, but this new adapter with AF is intriguing.

5 months ago |For an NEX-5 the AF doesn’t look that bad–not great mind you, but the the 5 & 3 (which I have) were’t known for their quick AF. I am curious to see how well it works on newer cameras. Also it still seems to have a separate power lead or some other cable dangling off of it.

5 months ago |if it is same as EOS-E adapter, slow AF, unreliable, need to periodically reboot your camera to make it working right. I prefer to wait 2nd generation.

A whole new use experience when using this adapter.
Fast and accuracy! I try it on NEX 5, the result is quite good!
If you use it on NEx6, it will much better!

5 months ago |Def agree. Manual override is essential, unless… the AF is very exact and fairly quick. In that case I can live with AF only. But I have yet to be convinced. Until then, I stick to my Metabones manual adapter.

Yes, it have something like Minolta power zoom / Panasonic Lumix X 14-42mm pancake electric MF switch on the adapter.

But what would make this a truely awesome adapter is that they add metal-bones’ speed booster concept to this adapter…..
